Under the headline, McCain retreats on immigration reform, the daily runs this report and video clip from McCains interview with Brahm Resnik on KPNX 12 News Sunday Square Off,* which aired this morning at 8 a.m.
The entire Sunday Square off show can be viewed here.
McCain: We need to assure the American people that the border is secure. People in AZ are so cynical about the promises that have been made about a secure border. Doing the right things and spending the right money, we can have a 90 percent effective control of the border within two years.

he probably forgot what year it is .
McShamnesty is a focking DemocRat.
I think that in 2016 even another 20 million dollars in his coffers won’t save him, as it did in 2010.
McCain is the worst RINO.
Because he is a chameleon. He will say anything to get his face on Teevee. I do not trust him as far as I can throw him. Absolute worse nomination in 2008. A short, pudgy, old, ugly McCain versus a tall, slim, young, charismatic black? What were the voters thinking?
We need to recruit a premier candidate to run against him NOW. We can’t wait another 2 years.
He offered similar pledges and promises in 2010 when he was running for the Senate. As soon as he defeated Hayworth, he was back pushing his Gang of 8 crapola.
deploy our military with weapons with orders to shoot... and we could have the border secure in a week.
they believed the media! that told them only a moderate could win!
I thought the people of AZ were smarter in 2010. They weren’t. Just like the people in SC are probably going to reelect Graham. Roberts in Kansas, too, even though he doesn’t really even live in Kansas any more.
For some reason, people go stupid regarding senators — especially ones up for reelection.
Incumbency is difficult to beat. That is why those senators throw everything including the kitchen sink at potential competitors.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Juan. You saved your dead presidental primary campaign in 2008 by promising to secure the border first. Then you promised to secure the border first again during your senate reelection camaign in 2010.
So, Juan, give us a list of all the actions you’ve taken to secure the border first since 2008?
Juan, thank you for bringing us Sarah Palin. Now go away.
Where's the damned fence, Juan?!
What part of WORTHLESS are we taking about???
McCain’s problem was NOT being a moderate.
His problem was he refused to counter-attack Obama during campaign and debates. Someone like Christy would have done a better job. I am not a Christy backer, just saying.
In todays age of 24-7 TV news, a pudgy, old, balding, face disfigured candidate like McCain has no chance against a tall, young and charismatic candidate.
I’ll always believe Juan McInsane threw the election on purpose.
