During the Jubilee Year (on March 6, 2000), Cardinal Giacomo Biffi asserted what I had been saying since the mid 1990s, that the Antichrist is walking among us.

Cardinal Biffi said the Antichrist was not the beast with seven heads described in the Book of Revelation but a "fascinating personality" whose outward charm and plausibility had deceived his enemies. The cardinal said the Antichrist espoused vegetarianism, pacifism, environmentalism and animal rights.

He also identified the Antichrist as an expert on the Bible who nonetheless promotes "vague and fashionable spiritual values" rather than the Scriptures. He advocates ecumenical dialogue between the Roman Catholic Church and other Christian denominations, including Anglicanism and the Orthodox Church. This appeared to be a worthy aim, but was in fact being used by the Antichrist in an attempt to water down and undermine Catholicism to the point where it collapsed.

That’s the historic Protestant position. Unfortunately most no longer know that because Christians are ignorant of both the Bible and history.

I wonder how much longer this charade of prosperity will be able to linger, but I fear the next global crash will be so deep it will change world history.

That scenario would be the perfect time for the Anit-Christ to emerge on the world scene, and seize global power.

What group of Christians has more biblical knowledge than Christians in this country? I’m not arguing with you. I’d just like to know. I can easily envision groups of oppressed Christians thirsting for the Word in a way American Christians generally don’t.

Also, when I say “Christian” I am refer to those born again by the gracious and miraculous work of the Holy Spirit.

I did not read any assertion that the Pope is the antiChrist. I did read that Francis plays into the hands of those who seek to supplant Christianity with a world state predicated upon The Earth Charter. They are the footstool and the throne of the antiChrist.

Soon to be published will be Cardinal Biffi’s article about how Jesus liked “biffinf’ boys’ and thus we should accept queers and especially stop criticizing the “Annual Running Of The Alter Boys at St Paedophilia’s Church and other s around the world.

Indeed, we've been expecting such signs and wonders because Jesus predicted them:

Matthew 24:24-25  For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.  (25)  Behold, I have told you before.

Mary is highly revered in Islam as well, perhaps more so than Jesus, not to mention the New Agers, who regard her as the Christian face of their earth goddess.  Pretty interesting that such a huge chuck of the world's population is ready to accept those apparitions without ever questioning their true source.  One could even suspect that with such a following the stage would be set for peace in our time:

1 Thessalonians 5:2-3  For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.  (3)  For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

On second thought, you can keep the apparitions. Jesus is enough for me.
