So, the Catholic Church has a major problem right now. ...And the Pope is only a part of it

Anti-capitalism, pro-AGW, and anti-gun

By now, you’ve probably seen the Tweets, read the quotes, or listened to the proclamations coming from the Vatican. The Pope has decided to embrace the global warming faith, attack capitalism, decry the successes of western nations, and rail against guns, gun manufacturers, and those who support the industry. In short (abortion and gay marriage aside) he’s taken a turn to the hard-left. In the span of a decade, we’ve gone from a Pope teaming with Reagan to defeat the Soviet Union to a Pope who embraces the classist financial rhetoric of our old enemies.

That’s troubling, but it’s not really the problem. The Pope is free to say, believe, and claim whatever he likes. If Catholics don’t like it, they’re free to reject it and walk away. As HermanCain.com’s resident Catholic, it’s a decision I’ve been forced to wrestle with myself. Shut your mouth and stick with the church, or stand your ground and refuse?

I’ve made my decision, and we’ll get to it in a moment.

A sad day. So, now not only am I waiting for a new president and Congress, but a new pope too. Only a 10-20 year wait I guess.

What next, will the Pope support population control? That’s another tenet in the wacko-environmentalist platform.

"decry the successes of western nations, "

What was that about?

This Pope is charting a course for the Church that will lead it down the same path pioneered by the “mainline” Protestant churches in America. This is a path that leads to decline, weakness and slow death of the institutions on the path. I miss Pope Benedict & his biblical adherence terribly. Francis wants to lead the West to become like Argentina and then descend even further down the path of decadence-—it’s the way of death.

I’m simply acknowledging that, until it corrects its course, a socialist Pope sits atop an organization that’s heading down a path I can’t - and won’t - follow.

I recommend the Noachide Laws.

Nah, If God thinks we need one, it will be quick.

The Catholic Church has been going down that path already for some 150 years . . . ever since an alliance with evolution brought in liberal Protestant "higher criticism."

I miss Pope Benedict & his biblical adherence terribly.

Benedict was also an evolutionist and a higher critic. He doesn't even believe in the Catholic dogma of "original sin."

Considering many signs of the end of the age fast approaching, Pope Francis may well be the False Profit of which St. John wrote. If he isn’t, then the Pope needs to get back to focusing on Scripture and stay the heck out of anti-American NWO politics.

He (Pope Emeritus Benedict) doesn’t even believe in the Catholic dogma of “original sin.”

Robert Laurie cannot have been much of a Catholic if he is willing to apostasize and abandon the Mass, the sacraments, and genuine apostolic succession just because of the 78-year old tubby weakling. All this too shall pass away and so will Chatty Cathy I (and hopefully the last of his sort). Get ready for the next conclave when God decides to fire this pope. I doubt it will repeat this mistake.

They gave Obama the Nobel before he did anything.
Maybe they’ll canonize Francis while still in office.

As a practicing Roman Catholic I feel I need to remind everyone that this entity has had all kinds of bad popes and when they forget the admonition “My Kingdom Is Not Of This World” it gets into all sorts of trouble. But survives.

These meandering homilys of This pope on temporal matters diffuse any theologic message Pope Francis offers. Snowballs should be thrown at those pointy hat supporters of his as well as opposition clearly expressed to those meanderings on any visit Francis may make here.

This “pope” is trying to get an “honorable” mention on the list of popes which include:

Clement VI
Clement VII
Boniface VIII
John XV
Urban II
Urban VI
Innocent IV
Alexander VI
Leo X
John XII
Sergius III
Benedict IX
Stephen VI

I think if he keeps going like he is in this anti-Jesus/ pro-Lucifer direction, he has a great shot at making this list.

really...didn’t the Church itself do exactly that in the late 1960’s...?

Get ready for the next conclave when God decides to fire this pope. I doubt it will repeat this mistake.

sorry, but it will take a lot more than a modest upgrade of a maverick pope for the Church to regain its identity, so willingly discarded in favor of trendy nonsense...

The Catholic Church has had a problem for 2000 years now, we let sinners in.

[sarcasm] Just get rid of them and problem solved. No sinner no problem.[/sarcasm]

I wonder if he can be “impeached” for being an industrial strength LIAR on the issue of Climate Change and for denying the validity of the Bible?

I sure hope we see some smoke coming out of the Vatican soon!

We can only hope that the pope renounces his Jesuit ways and stop worshiping Gaia.

We should all pray that he becomes a Christian!
