Supreme Court has made confiscation of firearms a breeze

Last year, Democrat Senator Ed Markey (NY) and Democrat Rep. Carolyn Maloney (Mass) introduced legislation suggesting Barack Obama’s Centers for Disease Control (CDC) be paid $10 million/year to fund “…research on gun violence prevention and firearm safety.” According to the far left Markey, “it is time we study the issue of gun violence like the public health crisis that it is. If we want to prevent injury and deaths from guns, we need to know what can be done to prevent it.”

Truth be told, Markey and Maloney believe the best way to prevent gun violence is by making it illegal or at the very least, impossible, to own a gun. Maloney recently introduced legislation which would require all gun owners purchase liability insurance for their firearms and pay a $10,000 fine should they be discovered without it. Naturally, members of law enforcement would be exempt.

“An insurance requirement would allow the free market to encourage cautious behavior and help save lives,” said Maloney. “Adequate liability coverage would also ensure that the victims of gun violence are fairly compensated when crimes or accidents occur.” Only a leftist would claim that liability insurance is necessary to make gun owners exercise appropriate caution with their firearms.

Each year, about 60% of gun deaths are the result of suicide. Would Maloney demand insurance companies pay off in cases of suicide? Would a suicide “victim’s” estate be charged the $10,000 fine if...

Just how many CRIMINALS are going to buy firearm insurance for their ILLEGALLY OBTAINED GUNS?

But non-violent resistance is also a breeze as well. Do not register or turn in your guns or buy insurance. There is not enough jail space to house even a fraction of people who choose not to comply.

“The court” won’t be walking up to a gunowner’s door and demanding their firearms.

The person actually doing it will be in a bit more “clench” mode than some black robed tyrant issuing a decree.

I guess all right wing, Christians, white people, and conservatives will be declared mentally ill By the administration.

Have they considered the fact that their constant agitation and manipulation might be the root of that problem? I’d guess no...

If ISIS comes to America and the tyrant in the WH gives them the keys (as planned) they won’t need jail cells; just enough acreage to burm bodies.

We’ve seen how they’ll do it. It will largely be voluntary through incrementalism.

My husband checked on insurance in case someone broke in and stole his guns. The cost of the insurance was prohibitive to say the least. Much more than the guns were worth.

A breeze? I don’t think so.

Maybe half will let them be taken without resistance.

The other half.....

Well, lets just say that the politicians or Judiciarchs that demand that they be confiscated should be required to be the first one through the door when they come to take them

This has been said by many people in very many ways. Some times in jest. Sometimes not. But let me say, and make no mistake I mean every word.

Just guessing, the court factors in by being inclined to (continue to) uphold a federal fee for possession of a firearm. Combine upholding the "fees" under 1934 NFA as not an infringement; plus finding mandatory insurance to be constitutional as long as there is a tax penalty for failing to procure insurance.

It's sort of fun to guess where SCOTUS will end up on issues like that, but it really is just guesswork. My guess is SCOTUS would uphold a federally mandated liability insurance under RKBA. Courts are hostile to the RKBA, and impose as much burden as they feel their credibility admits.

About the same number of illegals who drive vehicles on our streets who have liability insurance.
