Patton on Politics: A Pint of Sweat Will Save a Gallon of Blood
Official Website of General George S. Patton ^ | November 26, 2015 | General George Patton

At this rallies, Trump speaks of his admiration for General Patton.  And observing Trump's campaign, it certainly appears he's stolen a page or two from the great General's playbook.

Watching Trump is fun because you learn winning marketing and branding techniques: the "rookie politician" is giving the veteran politicians and consultants a clinic on how it's done.

Patton was a strong believer in speed of attack.  The Germans had a word for it, the blitzkrieg, or "lightning war": create disorganization in the enemy by using mobile forces and locally concentrated firepower.  It delivers shorter military campaigns, which preserves human lives and limits the expenditure of artillery.

That's what Patton meant when he said, "a pint of sweat will save a gallon of blood".

No candidate has worked up as much of a sweat as Trump!  He's absolutely relentless as he attacks his opponents, sucks up the media oxygen, and fires up his supporters in campaign rallies.

This hustle great frustrates his competitors: the best defense truly is a good offense.

A recent article from the Washington Post, Plan A for GOP donors: Wait for Trump to fall. (There is no Plan B.) hints at the "blood" Trump is saving, namely the big money he avoids spending later on in the campaign.

Specifically, Trump’s relentless attack and early success is discouraging the big donors from spending tens of millions on attack ads against him.  The Koch Brothers have opted out of investing in this election cycle.  As much as GOPe donors want to influence events, they also don’t want to throw good money away.  So Patton’s battle strategies seem to be working for Trump.

Here are a few of Patton’s quotes from the well-done website posted above:

Most of these political pundits and consultants have never built anything or owned or operated a for profit private enterprise in their entire lives. Most had to go to school to learn their political science trade and marketing theories.

Capitalists like Trump who successfully build and sell things, gain their political knowledge through experience, and then build and operate the schools and write the books. Their parents buy the books for the wannabe pundits and send them to school, but the little buggers keep eating the pages.

They are mine too.

Officers in Taiwan must study Patton and MacArthur.

MacArthur is especially respected in Taiwan since he had the Pacific campaign and did extraordinary things.

That Patton quote is something that was never instilled in choom choom in the White House. He wouldn’t understand it now if it were pumped in. Hussein never heard of WW II, evidently, but he’s all-in for facilitating WW III and thinks he’s a hero for doing so. Blech.

You nailed it!

It’s All relativism now.

What you think is right,
not What is right
