The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) posted a video on its website to tell Americans that they should think about how much food they waste during the holiday season if they want to help save the planet.

The video is part of the EPA's "Fight Food Waste" campaign.

In the video posted on YouTube and in the text accompanying it, EPA claims that food waste contributes to climate change. [...]

"Once in landfills, food breaks down to produce methane, a potent greenhouse gas which contributes to climate change," the text states. "So, this holiday season, take steps to cut down your food waste." ...

They used to say that my right to swing my arms ended where your nose began. I’m not sure that principle is valid any longer. These tools could certainly use one danced off their booger cage.

The same thing happens if I eat it.

And where did the carbon come from? From plants pulling CO2 out of the air.

If we’d eaten it, instead of throwing it away, it would have still ended up back in the atmosphere, and then absorbed into a different growing plant.

Methane is ejected from Volcanoes, vents deep in the ocean, hot springs, new islands in the ocean and by other means. Lawrence Livermore lab has concluded that methane is naturally created in the Earth’s mantle. So I doubt a naturally occurring gas that’s been around for millions of years is suddenly a threat to the planet.

Assuming methane were a problem, I doubt a few leftovers can create enough methane to have any effect whatsoever. They really do think people are idiots.

An pray tell oh great and wise EPA what happens when that food breaks down in our intestines? Should we all stop eating so as to eliminate human flatus? The biggest offenders in that case are the vegans because vegetables cause more gas production than any other food. Quick, everyone kill the vegans before they destroy the Earth!!

The only ones destroying the planet is the EPA. It is the exact opposite, they live to destroy it and all humans on it. Give us your money, never ending and increasing year by year. Nixon started this nonsense, what pure crap.

"It ends up in landfills where it rots and releases methane - a greenhouse gas 20 times more potent than carbon dioxide that contributes to climate change," the narrator states while an image of a savage storm is shown.

This is misleading crap!

Every modern landfill is set up with piping designed to capture the methane and route it to a standpipe where it is burned off.

Without such systems there is a hazard of fires or explosions.

Some landfills collect the methane and sell it to local manufactures at reduced rates because it is contaminated with undesirable trace gases.

We still have ham leftover from Christmas and my methane output is about normal.

As if methane isn’t here unless people make it.

The sad part is the number of fools who buy into this.

"EPA Warning: Holiday Leftovers Contribute to Climate Change"

Upon dismantling and outlawing the EPA in 2017, be sure there are no leftovers to contribute to climate change.

They banned over-the-counter asthma inhalers just because they are mean bastards and have the power to do it. Don’t doubt they will ban their least favorite foods.
