Saturday Night Live did not just take aim at Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz. The NBC comedy show also mocked his daughter, Catherine.

In last night's cold open skit last night, an actor playing Cruz said, "First, my family, I would be nothing without the love and support of my incredible family like my daughter Catherine here."
"Come here, sweetie," says the fake Cruz. "How about a hug for daddy?"
"No," says the actress, clearly much older than the real life Catherine Cruz.
"Come on, now, give daddy a hug for the camera?"
"No."
"Come here, sweetie. How about a kiss? I'll settle for a kiss. Love you too, honey. My pride and joy."
Catherine Cruz is 5 years old.
snl means snotty nosed liberals.
That skit wasn’t mocking his daughter, it was mocking him. Apparently there was an awkward moment with his daughter where she was less than enthused about a hug, this was a takeoff on that.
Chelsea probably heard this too when Hillary wasn't around
First the disrespect of Former First Lady Barbara Bush for attending Jebs debate.
Now it's ok to attack, mock and/or humiliate another candidates daughter?
Oh but, hands off the precious little ones of the present first family and/or their nemesis the Clintons.
Were the SNL writers trying to imply that Ted has an unhealthy relationship with his daughter?That the child was afraid of him?
These flaming liberals make me sick.
I told Cruz people that SNL would destroy him, it was inevitable. Leftist are scrum, if they see you as an easy target, they will attack.
Can’t remember which lefty said it, but they tried to imply Teds behavior was proof of the rape culture in the US
Why bring the child into it at all? Has the left and its fellow-travelers run out of superficially plausible criticisms of Cruz?
SNL went after amy carter but not in bad way.
How have they “destroyed” him? He won Iowa, will place well in New Hampshire, might win South Carolina and will mop the floor in the SEC states. The demographic that watches SNL weren’t going to vote for Cruz in a million years.
SNL hasn’t had good writers in years.
And yet the front runner in NH, Donald Trump, has stated that he thinks his own daughter is hot and that in different circumstances, he would probably date her! Where is SNL on this little twist?
No, they were mocking a recent campaign moment when his daughter rejected his attempts at affection on camera.
In all honesty, I doubt SNL is done with all of the candidates yet.

I'd think Cruz is through. If SNL is laughing with you, it's a positive. If they're laughing at you, it's devastating.
Um.. Ted tried to force her to hug and kiss him like a trained seal on the campaign trail and she refused. I think that episode is fair game. It’s mocking HIM not her.
Who? My impression is people are going after Cruz for dragging his daughter around on the campaign trail when she obviously doesn't want to be there.
No one is going after the daughter. Geez Louise, you Cruz folks are koolaid drinkers.
Ted Cruz, somewhere on the campaign trail, tried to force his daughter to hug or kiss him. Cameras were whirring to pick up her refusal which he didn’t respect. That is fair game.
