Voted in S. MS yesterday.

Dem table had 2 folks - both older women one White one Black - didn't look too pleasant.

Rep table had 6 folks - all looked decent and happy - 3 Black and 3 White>,

First time in 18 years that I saw Blacks at the Rep table in the place I vote.

I’m a child of the 70’s and I recall a lot of difference in prices of things - mind you I wasn’t avidly looking at car prices or college tuition, but I recall gasoline was way cheaper along with every other small ticket item, so the rest naturally follows.

I don’t want to see BJ Clinton die, I just want to see him and his missus go away and disappear never to be heard from again.

I don’t ever want to see a state funeral and procession for the scumbag from Arkansas. It would demean the ceremony, likely for the rest of my life.

Bush being added to Cruz’s team more than enough proof that he’s sold out to the party elite?

....ahhh, NO... only an idiot would turn down sources of campaign money in a fight against sHillary/Bernie/Bloomy...
and it is not “proof” of anything, except to a Cruz hater.
...get real for a change.

ymmv

Cruz's ties to the Bush dynasty through his career are not a secret. Early in his campaign, Cruz was very careful to frame himself as having broken his associations with the Bushes and being a total outsider. Bringing Neil Bush on board CERTAINLY matters. It tells us he is not one bit independent of their elitist grasp.

Voters aren't being stupid this year. I'm wondering how much getting in bed with the Bushes has helped people see that Cruz is not one bit independent and is not the outsider he pretended to be.

Unfortunately I predict when Bill goes, he will go big
It will be a Wellstone epic funeral campaign rally on steroids
It will be JFK redux
They might even send his diseased corpse across America in a train, like FDR, so all the black folks can come out and pay respects as the train goes by
And all for Hillary’s political career
The FBI and DOJ and that nasty VRWC would not want to indict a grieving widow now, would they?

The die hard libs will vote Hillary but a lot of lefties there understand show biz and Donald is a master, with lots of friends and contacts and favors delivered over the years

Obama already set those precedents
Now it’s time for a republican president to use the same methods as he/ she sees fit

Mr Constitution Ted Cruz is only going to move the ball on his agenda if he uses EO’s, given his track record in failing to build teams of movers and shakers to advance his agenda

A republican President would repudiate them, and do whatever he could to insure they're never used again.

A Republican, having only a claim to a cosmetic party label, won't give a crap.

Well just a few years ago we were surrounded by life long democrats too. Florida has been in the past a yellow dog democrat area but in recent years trending republican. I have lived in Florida my whole life and when I turned eighteen, I voted for Reagan. I always had voted the republican ticket in the past but they have destroyed any loyalty I had to them. I will always vote for what is best for the US, not what is best for the rich, elitist class. If Trump does ten percent of what he is always blurting out of his mouth then we will better off than we have been in the last twenty-five years.

That’s the point. People are terrified of being subjected to exactly what Trump has been subjected to, so they keep quiet and vote for Trump.

while setting precedents that future generations will curse us for

Elaborate please. Not enough to even make an argument in support or against such a vaguely stated concern.

We've seen it all before with the New Deal. At the time, it was all going to be for "good things". Look what it turned into.

Thanks for posting this -— I always find Rod Dreher interesting. He seems to do a respectable percentage of his own thinking.

How can someone still support Cruz?

“...He’s winning. BIG TIME...”

The point (that sailed over your head) is that he could be winning more if only he had a true friend — just one true friend — who would slap him hard and tell him to quit being a horse’s ass when he absolutely does not *need* to be a horse’s ass. And also, quit copying Obama with the constant stream of “I’s” and “Me’s”, and instead try “Us” and “We” for a change.
