US Navy moves ship launching ceremony due to ‘harsh anti-gay laws’ in Mississippi

In the Navy, you can sail the seven seas

The future USS Portland is already in the water, but it has yet to be commissioned. The ceremony to do so was scheduled to be held in Pascagoula, Mississippi at the end of May, but then the state decided to put its hatred, its bigotry, and its antiquated notions about the 1st Amendment on display. Since we’re a hyper-sensitive society that subsists on faux-outrage, we can’t tolerate any of that “religious freedom” nonsense. Super-important dignitaries refused to attend, so the Navy has determined that the christening simply had to be moved.

Wow, this is getting so ridiculous, it’s almost comical.

Will the EPA be threatening to shut off all oxygen to Mississippi next?

Since the Secretary of the Navy is a flaming faggot, this comes as no surprise.

By design, and with treasonous intent, our military is soon to be a gays only organization.

Yeah, they should be sure to present the ceremonies with a drag-queen musical interlude, too.

Damned POS country that America has become.

All opposing navies would have to do to get the US navy to surrender is to crew all opposing ships with gays. We couldn’t bear the thought of firing on homosexuals. That would be discrimination.

If this surreal nonsense was going on 70 years ago, Ike would have had to cancel D-Day due to Normandy’s bigoted anti-tranny law.

This well-written piece appropriately mock the culture we find ourselves in.

Shame on the US Navy.

So we are saying the Navy, or any federal organization, cannot perform certain functions in states with religious freedom laws???, what the heck???

So what is next?? The federal government will close all offices and installations in states with so called anti LGBT laws?? The federal government will not provide public assistance or perform any federal function in such states??

Where does all this nonsense end?? You can see that is putting us on a slippery slope. Any state which has the temerity to do anything which Obama or liberals disapprove of, will be punished in some way. That’s where this is going.

So I guess this means that the USS Caliph Baraq 0bama (aka 'Raging Queen') won't be launched from Mississippi?

And that is bad?

They are on constant offense, always pushing at every opportunity. We on the other hand pretty much acquiesce all the time.

‘harsh anti-gay laws’

Just what is the criminal penalty for homosexual acts in Mississippi? If there is one, is it actually being enforced?

I was under the impression that the issue was very much on the other foot. That is, Mississippi was simply trying to protect people who opposed certain behavior from being punished for refusing to pretend that they found that behavior acceptable.

Am I the one confused? Or is someone in the Navy confused?

Ridiculous is right.

The whole thing is a perfect example of how the Left has changed the language and put out lies and obfuscation to force their agenda.

Neither MS or NC have anything in their laws that could be seen as "harsh anti-gay".

Anyone who is bitching about this has not read the laws. All they have done is react to what the Liberal media has put out there as 'fact'. I hope the states stick to their guns on this one.

Secretary of the Navy is so sexist; they should change it to Naval Chief Administrative Professional. Oops! That would offend the injuns, Naval Senior Administrative Professional. Oh, age discrimination. How about Distinguished Naval Administrative Professional?
