While Obama Golfs, Kremlin Shipping Trainloads of Tanks and Heavy Artillery into Ukraine

As I myself posted here in 2009, Barack Obama from the start projected a dangerous weakness in foreign policy, as I saw a future Putin proclaiming
'Yes We Can' invade Ukraine... and what are you going to do about it?

Sorry to say that's all come to be, as the hapless, largely abandoned Ukrainians -and their lukewarm sponsors in the West- have been repeatedly outmaneuvered by Vladimir Putin, both militarily and diplomatically.

Sanctions have indeed hurt the Russian economy, yet nobody is better than the Kremlin at squeezing the plebes' living standards in the name of
national-imperialist pride, same as the did during the Cold War. I'm not sure how much you can trust Russian public opinion polls, but they do routinely show Putin's support to be sky-high... and durable.

But as long as the elite supporting Putin are still there -and with his new Schutzstaffel at the ready to nip any color revolutions in the bud- the Russian leader will be doing as he damn well pleases for the next 9 months, including military adventurism in Ukraine, Middle East, and possibly even Transnistria/Moldova or the (NATO member) Baltic states.

Unless of course Trump wins the US presidency... in which case the Russians will feel welcome to make a go for Poland and Romania too.

Just so everyone knows who started the new Cold War.

You just had to bash Trump in the post.

That was completely uncalled for. Trump gets along so far well with Putin.

I always supported the Ukrainians yearning to dump Kremlin-dominated kleptocracy, from Orange Revolution to Maidan and now fighting Russian invasion.

And McCain’s right on the Russians- even if not often elsewhere

Alt Right on the other hand making excuses for Trump’s kissing up to Putin, wanting to build a hotel casino in Moscow apparently

Because I don’t wan’t to ‘get along’ with Vladimir Putin, I see any such thinking as incredibly naive.... or just plain corrupt.

Trump has long ties with the Russians, and in fact Paul Mannefort personally helped smuggle stolen Oligarch $ (Dimitry Firtash) from Ukraine to USA real estate.

That’s why I ‘had to bash Trump’- because he’s telling us to be friends with an evil regime just so he can make money building hotels and what not. He promised to build and office tower in Moscow in 2013, you know.

I’m just saying.

You are Reaganite Republican. You are posting a post by Reaganite Republican, basically pimping your own blog it seems. And you are saying things which are just bashing Trump.

I am just pointing that out. That is all. Have a nice day.

I can’t believe the Russkies would do anything so drastic that would effect the November election. They want Hillary/Bernie.

Disappointing to see a purported conservative backing the Soros-backed “liberal interventionism” of Victoria Nuland and her hubby, Robert Kagan. Then again, maybe you’re actually Bill Kristol. In which case, good luck to you and fellow “conservative” Kagan with your candidate in November— Crooked Hillary.

How else does Gog/Magog attack Israel from the north? The exact route they are building up now. They get decimated, so expect about a 90% loss of everything they throw at them.

“That was completely uncalled for. Trump gets along so far well with Putin.”

You don’t understand. We cant have a president who gets along, or who isn’t expanding NATO until we encounter rumbles of resistance. The defense industry cannot sell weapons to nations that are getting along./s

“I can’t believe the Russkies would do anything so drastic that would effect the November election. They want Hillary/Bernie.”

I think they would rather have Trump. We are the ones doing everything we can to fire up a new cold war requiring untold billions to be spent. They just want to not be threatened and undermined, and to be shown basic respect. I think they sense Trump has no animus for them and will treat them in a businesslike manner.

The loony McCain, Neuland, Hillary wing is utterly unpredictable. Bernie I think they correctly judge as nutty and too reverent for the USSR and communism, which over there is seen as a head shaking joke.
They get nostalgic for Sputnik, Yuri Garagin, and for a few points of pride like defeating Nazis. But nobody actually wishes for the Soviet system to return. (except Bernie, and our neocons who will get filthy rich from conflict)

“and with his new Schutzstaffel at the ready to nip any color revolutions in the bud- the Russian leader.....”

Meanwhile, the Kiev Kids of Svoboda are actually using the Wolfsangel symbol of the 2nd SS division on their banners. And the 2nd SS had quite a murderous and foul history in Ukraine. Or how about another Ukraine brigade that actually named itself “Dirlewanger”.

Yes, there are Nazis in Ukraine. They are from the western areas. Nazis just gotta Nazi sometimes!

Corruption is starting a war with Vladimir Putin just so contributors to neocon Republican politicians can sell more military hardware.

That 1989 thinking doesn't fly any more. The scammers have been unmasked, and nobody believes anyone in DC wants to start any war in the interest of "Truth, Justice, and the American Way."

“I always supported the Ukrainians yearning to dump Kremlin-dominated kleptocracy, from Orange Revolution to Maidan and now fighting Russian invasion.”

100% of this could have been avoided by the EU. The EU free trade deal offered came with a requirement of exclusivity and a NATO expansion.
The EU could have simply offered free trade with Ukraine and watched trade explode. And they could have simply said any Ukrainians that wanted could travel visa free into the EU.
They did neither. It was an EU decision that Ukraine had to choose whether to trade with Russia or the EU, but could not do both. The truth is that the EU wanted to control gas lines leading into Europe. They also want to control the source of gas inside Russia.

The EU has destabilized Russia, Ukraine, Syria, and Libya. I am always amazed that people view the EU as some innocent victim.

I think you are correct. Our foreign policy is driven by the need to sell weapons. That means strife needs to be stoked. Simple as that. It matters not whether the weapons are bought by foreigners, or simply given away.

The contractors can just as easily have their congressfool appropriate money for foreign military assistance and it still goes right into the contractors pockets.

Its as simple as that and it explains everything. It that was true, a 15 year war with no end in sight, combined with cycles of nation building, would be a really good foreign policy.

why should the USA fight for a corrupt government in Ukraine? If its not worth German or Polish lives—how is it worth American. Better to send President Trump to work out a deal with Putin than send in 101 airborn. We will need them to finish off ISIS and Russia can really be a help there. putin and Trump need to get into a small room with a map of the world and chop it up into zones of influnce—they get Ukraine—we get Cuba etc... Russians always get along better with Republicans than Democrats—why? They know where Republicans stand.

So you’re not also going to bash Turkey? They and Soros have arranged for the Muslims to invade Europe, and that group are doing a huge amount of damage to our allies.
