Kathleen Matthews had been a Washington DC local news anchor for a couple of decades before leaving to be (something like) VP of Communications for Marriott. So she’s a media person in her own right, and certainly known well to voters in her district. This has to be an ‘anti-establishment’ vote from a very wealthy blue Congressional District
