The Government of France is pleased to announce that an Arizona veteran from Sierra Vista, Captain Robert J. McCormack, was approved to receive the award of the National Order of the Legion of Honor in the rank of the Chevalier (Knight).
The award is the highest honor that France bestows on its citizens and foreign nationals. The award was presented by Mr. Garret M. Steenblik, Honorary Consul of France for Arizona, at a private ceremony on Oct. 8 at the Pima County Public Library at 101 N. Stone Ave. in Tucson.
Man, you linked to a subscription/sign-up only site. Do a better job of excerpting and tell us what the award was FOR, please.
His service in WWII over France is all I know.
