Why? It’s a word. We’ve been ordered to hate it so we do. It actually scares people. I never use it, but only because I’ve been programmed to act (not think) that way. IT’S A WORD!
We’re called terrible things by them but that’s OK. Their being offended is more valid than us being offended. They count; we don’t. You’re right that everyone needs to “suck it up”.
its strange though... all my life I admit to be a little thin skinned around my peers. but when it comes to blacks I’ve been called Whitey, cracker, honkie... even a blue eyed devil(mostly from elderly black women..) and never once did it offend me. 99 percent of the time I usually ended up breaking out in laughter.
