Posted on 12/02/2016 4:50:35 PM PST by Extremely Extreme Extremist
Does she not know that Trump assured Carrier that he'll reduce the regulatory climate and lower taxes across the board, which will help not only Carrier but all American businesses overall. How is this crony capitalism? As far as tax credits or subsidies are concerned, those came from the state of IN.
The point is, is that now's not the time to be engaging in this self-defeating crap. Trump already got his hands full by fighting off Hillary from stealing the election from him and walking on eggshells while Obola is still in the WH. Discuss this privately with Trump then if you disagree with it, but going public only divides Trump's support and now the leftist media has a talking point. Who knows, will Palin now do an interview on CNN or MSNBC bashing Trump?
I love Palin to death, bought both of her books, but this was truly a boneheaded move.
I don’t understand Palin’s comments either.
Maybe she found out that she didn’t get picked and she’s pissed.
The debate of ideas goes on. Its called freedom of speech.
Technically, Sarah Palin is right. In a perfect world, every company should get exactly the same treatment, there shouldnt be any special tax deals for just one company.
But, its an imperfect world, and right now Trump is still, legally, just an ordinary citizen with few legislative powers. Thatll change on Jan. 20th, when he gets some tools that can change the situation for ALL companies like reforming the inefficient tax code and rolling back oppressive regulations, which cost companies money.
But for now, he did what he could. Cant do it this way for every company, obviously.
Nothing wrong with Sarah or her comments.
Palin’s family is a train wreck.
She has a chance to do something now. I dont understand this unless she is hacked off about something going on behind the scenes.
Here is the original post by Sarah Palin, so you don’t have to read any spin from the mainstream media:
Aw hell, let's beat the hell out of her too...........That's what we're good at.
O hell — she got jilted. She is menopause pissed. I like to self destruct when I get pissed. It makes me feel alive! If Trump can forget that Mormon socialist he can cool this down. She was a great campaign loyalist. CUT HER SOME SLACK!! Sarah!! , Im going to bitch slap you until you quit your hysteria!!SHUT THE F UP!!
Honestly, she’s not that bright/
That's not like her. She's one of the most selfless individuals out there. In fact, her leadership skills mirror Trump's.
Timing, not so good.
I don't disagree with her comments per se, but you discuss this privately with Trump then. No need to make it public.
BTW, I'm glad Trump did this. It's a huge PR victory and it sets the agenda when he negotiates with Congress.
In a perfect world, she would know math and realize that half a billion dollars of income will be taxed over 10 years, which is the basis for capitalism.
An owner sees things getting too expensive and either closes down or moves the company. The money that is lost is the salary of each and every employee.
Probably much more if you include other servicing the company will need.
We’re talking about what? 8 million over 5 years or something like that.
I’m not sure what makes everyone here think she WANTS a job in Washington. She leads the good life making speeches.
I dont blame here. She has a big family and wouldn’t be around them much if she were in DC.
But I also think she likes to hear herself talk sometimes.
I think she is right on with what she said. Absolutely correct.
One can only debate the timing and the reason(s) it was said at this particular time.
Wherever she is coming from, I find discord intolerable. My friends used to say she hates all the fighting in Washington. I wrote her in as a lib. Someone had to stop the mess the libs were causing
But this is kookoo. Discord against trump. And I said it all along. On record.
In this case, of course the government is going to keep American courtroes solvent within the IS. Especially if it comes down to the IRS having burdened them, nafta agreements, EPA refs. All things the government caused to begin with
Paling is going after trump on business
I think she did not get the job she wanted, and now she is trying to get out front of the right wing of the party.
A lot of the more conservative crowd are not going to like when Trump cuts deals. Because he is going to be cutting those deals with Pelosi and Schumef.
None of this should be a shock—except that it’s Palin doing it first.
To be honest, there was a mix of carrots and sticks to push Carrier to make the right decision. Yes, Trump touted the likely reduction in regulatory burdens. Yes, the Pence’s allies in Indiana put together a few pork barrel tax incentives. But the big stick, lingering in the background, was the threat of loss of federal contracts. Carrier’s parent company United Technologies, depends of federal contracts for about a third of their revenues. They did not want to be on the naughty list of an incoming Trump administration.
Is that a bit unseemly? Yes. Do I want to see that happen all the time? No. Hopefully long term, the United States will again become a low-tax, low-regulation environment where there is little corruption and lots of transparency. If that happens, corporations will move work and jobs here naturally.
However, I don’t feel the least bit bad, after decades of corrupt government bargains and deals on behalf of elites and insiders, that the power of the Presidency was utilized on behalf of saving the jobs of 1000 workers, who had no insider connections.
If this is bullying, lets have more bullying.
She is passed her “use by date” Back to Alaska and write a book
