To the editor:
Like the vast majority of Latinos, I am not a supporter of Donald Trump. But for Los Angeles city and county leaders to use $5 million in taxpayer funds for the legal defense of the undocumented is mind-boggling. It is overreaching decisions like this one by mega-liberals that awoke the rest of the country and got Trump elected in the first place. (Responding to Trump, L.A. proposes $10-million legal defense fund for immigrants facing deportation, Dec. 19)
The rationale used by City Atty. Mike Feuer, who said the funds would ensure more fairness and more effectiveness in the immigration system, is bogus and meritless. President Obama has deported more people than any of his predecessors, and yet local officials took little action....

Don’t pick a fight with the people that tax you jail you and print money. That’s all I can think of. they’ll be bleed dry within the year. Between getting scammed by grifters on one end and fighting the wall of Bureaucracy on the other.
Now shouldn't tax paying gun owners demand public funds to provide attorneys for them accused of breaking some stupid liberal gun laws?
Yeah, all of us haters right? Where do these people come up with this crap. Seem to remember recently a certain individual stating ‘a whole group should not be judged by the action of a few miscreants’. Or something like that.
The silent majority of America is now awake, pissed off, and ready to put the hurt on the establishment that has been impoverishing, disparaging, and disenfranchising them with an invasion of illegal aliens. If the globalists and the traitor politicians keep pushing they are going to regret it.
If we start cutting off all federal funding to states, universities and cities that are sheltering and giving sanctuary to illegals, we can save a LOT of money, which can then be used to balance the budget and redirect economic development to areas which are willing to follow our laws.
As if there is something about supporting the rule of law which is somehow excessive?
I think a learned DOJ memo on whether that constitutes conspiracy to violate federal law might help LA’s government figure out whether it wants to continue to support illegal conduct.
I doubt the local shopkeepers will comply.
They’re not immigrants and #### them.
Send in the national guard and remove the illegals by force if necessary.
From what I understand, the National Guard reports first to the President.
YES. I live on Staten Island and I say Starve NY of money.
We always do fine out here regardless of what the political morons off the island decide :)
I would have written "enhearten."
The hell with witholding tax dollars THROW LAW BREAKING OFFICIALS IN JAIL!
Cut all social programs and medical to al families without at least on American citizen parent.
Big carrot removed, much money saved.
CALexit is only solution
they are too far gone to redeem, best to let them go their own way. Better for the rest of us. Subtract 55 electoral college votes from the Dems plus create veto proof R majorities in Congress with CALexit
Huh? They left out the word ‘illegal’ from the headline..........
The law put in place where you can arrest them without any reason and don’t have to take them to court. Deport millions from California. It has to be done.
A clock that’s not working is right twice a day.
