Tonight we have a candid conversation with some of best known reporters and media critics in the country. Here to reflect on the media's highs, its lows and what lies ahead.
Beginning tonight with MediaBuzz host Howie Kurtz. Hi, Howie.
HOWIE KURTZ, MEDIABUZZ: Hey, Megyn. You know, from the moment Donald Trump ascended on a Trump Tower escalator, and especially when he attacked Mexican immigrants as rapist, most of the media wrote off his candidacy.

It's like when Alice said to the Red Queen: "Who cares for you? You're nothing but a pack of cards!"
Of course the Queen has to go bezerk and throw everything she has in a great storm of huffing and puffing, but it all comes to nothing. Alice wakes up, and everything is normal, back in the real world.
The media is irrelevant now - they’re on the outside looking in. They need to either:
a). Accept the fact and adjust accordingly -or-
b). Get used to wandering in the wilderness for at least the next 4 years.
I was just listening to CNN rehashing the election, and none of them have a clue as to why or how Trump won. I’m not sure how long their wandering in the wilderness will last, but I’m going to enjoy it as long as they are way way out there, still grasping at #fakenews, #fakepolls, and straws.
I don’t think it is about accepting the election.
I think it is that many are facing jail.
They know it and are desperate to stop it.
Here's the thing.
The media has existed alongside with the political class and created a cottage industry among itself.
The fancy-schmancy cocktail parties, the "exclusives" that were already fed to them - all of that is going away.
That's where the shell-shock is coming from. When you know the party's over and you have to actually do your jobs instead of "doing" your jobs.
Bingo.

A round table of reporters who didn’t get it when he ran and still don’t get it. What is the point of the dscussion?
No doubt.
They lost because we won because they lost because we won.

And being replaced by tweets directly to the people at zero cost.
Most of us don't even follow Trump on Twitter, we follow the media twits reporting his tweets and laugh because they STILL don't get it.
I have sincere doubts that the drive-by media will ever permit themselves to be enlightened. The saying by Gautama Buddha, "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear" is quite apropos.
Did he really say "ascended"? If I recall correctly Donald and Melania Trump descended on the elevator in Trump Tower. Trump mentioned this day often at his rallies and usually said "came down" which everyone understands. This part of the building is open to the public.
Are the media people this clueless?

Yep. that’s exactly what I do, since I don’t tweet.
