In his first news conference since the Nov. 8 election, President-elect Donald Trump set social media ablaze on Wednesday with remarks including harsh criticism of the press and a defense of his goal to improve ties with Russia.
The session, held in the lobby of his Trump Tower headquarters in Manhattan, featured a number of viral moments, like an exchange with a reporter whom Trump accused of peddling "fake news."
"I'm not going to give you a question," Trump told the journalist from CNN, which reported on Tuesday that the Republican president-elect had been briefed by U.S. intelligence agencies about allegations that Russian operatives had compromising information about him.
"You are fake news!" he told the reporter in a moment that reverberated on Twitter.
Trump's comment that reporters were "the only ones who care" about whether he released his tax returns stirred up 165,000 tweets during the session. Social media users asked others to "retweet if you’re not a reporter and still care about seeing Trump’s tax returns."
In Russia, the hashtag #TrumpPressConference was a top-trending topic during the news conference and for several hours afterward.
"If Putin likes Donald Trump, I consider that an asset, not a liability because we have a horrible relationship with Russia," Trump, who takes office on Jan. 20, said in reference to the Russian president.
"I don't know that I'm going to get along with Vladimir Putin. I hope I do. But there's a good chance I won't," Trump said, prompting thousands of tweets from people in Russia....

One of the problems with our country is rich leftists living in liberal enclaves like D.C., LA, and NYC where they never have to deal with the peasants they’re screwing.
Trump “commuting” in and out of Manhattan is going to make life for those living there a nightmare...perhaps to the point of breaking up that particular enclave wherein dwells A LOT of the media ;o)

The press willing to report lies about President Trump, and hiding the truth about Obama pretty much tells you everything about the media.

Pompeo and Kelly are already working to drain the swamp at Langly and at DHS. They already know a report to Trump is due on April 21 on the status of the organizations which includes this incident.
I see this as the last ditch effort by McCain, Lindsey and the rest of the establishment to start the take down. Everything blows up in their faces, everything. And from this, the media knows they are on notice but there are still some who will try it. Many more will be leaving the country or going into hiding because the Special Prosecutors are going to start work after Sessions will recuse himself a number of times.

CNN reporter Acosta was rude and unprofessional. If he had behaved differently CNN would not have been called “fake news”.
America’s great so called investigative journalist decided that Obama would be our first black president and they would make it happen by hook or crook-—mostly by crook. To this very day we know next to nothing of this affirmative action failures of a president’s true history. I’m not referring to the “Birther” controversy as his birth mother supposedly was a politically misled young American girl and I leave that argument to others to wage. No sincere effort has ever been made to reveal the real history. Why is he allowed to seal his records from public scrutiny yet hold the highest office in the land and we’re supposed to have a free press?
Honestly, the MSMedia CAN’T be surprised....they’ve attacked him RELENTLESSLY and really didn’t think he’d fight back?
This is the stock line that Reuters and AP are going to include in all their stories for the next 8 years.
If you peruse foreign media, you’ll find they very much have the same problem. Ex: BBC. Difference is their consumers/nationals put up with it.

I too worry about his safety. I believe they need to get some taller Secret Service in for Trump and his family. If you look back at assassinations and near-assassinations, they were all done by unhinged and unhinged lefties.
He definitely needs to maintain his private security force in addition to Secret Service.
