I agree with your post. Here is the concern. Leadership changes.
Trump will put in people with this mindset and we will save some money over the short term. But at some time in the future when a less thrifty admin comes back into office, the old habits will return.
We need some sort of budgetary reform that makes it much harder for the spending spree to occur again. I don’t know what the right answer is to that. Sometimes you need the money for defense or emergencies, sometimes not. Any program will tell you that costs go up when budgets are uncertain, so that is one place to start. But likewise, if a program is under budget, there should be incentive to return money to the tax payer. Govt contracting with incentives like that has always been challenging, as even the best intentions can be manipulated by selfish people.
I hope to grow so tired of this ‘winning’.. (It’s gonna take a lot more though)
drop inthe bucket, yes.
but sets the tone, much yes.
They won’t know what to do with it. Lol
Similar story. We have a Welfare and Benefit Assoc for the firefighters here. A group of us wives went to them and asked to borrow money to fund shirts to sell at the annual BBQ to fund meals, etc for firefighter families when something tragic happened. Death in the family, etc. welfare and Benefit loaned us the money and we sold the shirts. At the next Welfare and Benefit meeting we showed up with cash to pay them back. The treasurer had a weird look and said....I don’t really know what to do with this. It’s never happened before. Lol
Should read:
Trump Team to Return 100% of Unused Transition Costs to Treasury
Or
Trump Team to Return 20% of Transition Costs to Treasury
Or
Trump Team Spends only 80% of Planned Transition Budget, to Return Unused 20% to Treasury
Probably would have covered 330 rounds of golf...
The Trump Philosophy:
“Winners arent losers”
Because it’s better than fake news, it’s well written, and he deserves a lot of hits, which I just gave him thanks to you?
Damn blog police
On time - under budget. It’s another WIN for our side.
He got the material from "fake news".. the MSM.. so what is the difference?
he deserves a lot of hits, which I just gave him
Get a room.
Love it!
I’m sure this tidbit will be all over the cable news. /s
You might want to rewrite the headline, though. Sounds like Trump’s team returned only 20% of what was unused and pocketed the remaining 80% of the unused funds.
And this is just the beginning. This is going to be one heck of a year with Trump in the White House.
What an amateur, a professional politician would pocket that 20% and buy a spiffy house on the beach in Hawaii or a fortified place in Georgetown.
A little spirit of Calvin Coolidge, so awesome.
BTW has Hillary Clinton returned any money to the donors or the Treasury?
You can bet not now and not ever!
Exactly. Which is another reason Fascist Trump Must Be Stopped (said every Democrat forever.)
Thanks for posting. HOORAY Trump and transition team.
This is news. And he posted the entire article here so nobody has to go offsite.
It was news when he read it. Then he changed it up a bit and stuck it on his blog.
And he posted the entire article here so nobody has to go offsite.
True enough. But he posted it as news and he pretends to have written it himself.
News isn't something you hear about and then re-write.
This blogger should be horsewhipped in the street.
