NYT: Beleaguered Democrats abandon compromise, opt for ‘total war’ with Trump

Choosing your poison

As we all know, Democrats lost. To employ a misquote that they seem to love, they lost “bigly.” In fact, a combination of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and Bernie Sanders ended up decimating their party. Overreach, a misguided agenda, and insular thinking have left them at their lowest level of power in several generations.

So, they’re trying to figure out what to do next.

I’m okay with total war with the left.

Just as compromise with evil is still evil so too is compromise with progressivism still progressivism.

Anyone thinks its a good idea to let Islam plant a few proverbial flags of victory in non-Muslim lands?

We should have the same abhorrence to the left as we should to Islam.

I must have missed the “compromise” stage

Was that before 60 members of Congress skipped the inauguration?

Im ok with total war too.
It’s the only way to destroy them, which is what needs to be done.

An admitted REBEL once said, “If they want war, let it begin HERE”. The result....the United States of America came into being.
The LEFT said, “It is to be WAR!!”
The President said, “It’s up to you. OK.”

And they’re showing their ‘compromise’ intentions by delaying Trump his cabinet picks. Can’t wait to see the RATS elect Ellison as the leader of their party, lol!

Wonder if the MSM will ever report their extinction by political suicide?

The Republicans did not “Just say no” to Obama for eight years.

The Republicans repeatedly caved to Obama for eight years.

I can only recall two spots where they were forced by the base to actually thwart Obama.

1. They stopped his push to further infringe on the Second Amendment.

2. They refused to confirm another Supreme Court justice in the last 8 months of his administration. (with that, they expected Hillary to appoint her).

The idea that they seriously fought against Obama is simply false.

If Trump sent a tweet encouraging the DNC to pick Keith Ellison, I wonder if they’d label him “anti-semitic”?

LOL!

There is going to be another civil war in America. Sooner or later the communist left will get bold or stupid enough to ignite it.

I see this as a good thing. The dems have based their whole party around and upon deception. The murder of babies has become “choice”, regulations have become “protection”, etc.

Total war will create the start contrast that leads to clarity of election choices. And while there are those that will prefer the nanny state, I believe the vast majority will reject it. Perhaps leading to even greater conservative control.

I think the quote you’re referencing is Patrick Henry at the Virginia Continental Congress: “If this be treason, let us make the most of it.”

Henry was referring to King George and tobacco tariffs, but the analogy fits the modern-day left.

The last time they lost everything, they started a civil war. Best to troll them mercilessly.

No - it was militia captain John Parker at Lexington Green:

"Stand your ground. Don't fire unless fired upon, but if they mean to have a war, let it begin here."

Note that the Regulars were coming to seize the colonials' "illegal arms and ammunition."

The left is still trying to destroy what is left of their party rather than rebuild the brand.

The Henry quote is correct.
My quote was from a man who stood with the REBELS at Lexington and Concord, although I forget his name. These were the “MINUTEMEN”, standing at the bridge facing the Redcoats, their “evil” ASSAULT muskets at the ready.
I believe it was there that the phrase, “The Shot Heard Around The World” was both fired and born.
The Redcoats wanted war, so they were accomadated.

Trump needs to be careful. When people are truly out to get you, to kill you, to sabotage you, encourage even your assasination... well, you’d better fight back HARD.

Trump, don’t pull your punches. Be bold, fight your enemy with at least as much vigor as they come for you. If you don’t? They will win, because they are very good at character assassination and worse.
