My mother forced me to have my first communion when I was 10. According to all the catholics I know, that makes me a catholic for life. So according to all of you, I'm just speaking out against my own churc
I've used the same argument in Catholic Caucus. It only applies if you don't disagree with what they claim. Heck I was infant baptized, and spent 12 years in parochial reeducation camp.

That sculpture looks like something straight out of an HP Lovecraft story.

And they’ve had 46 years to replace it.
And that they haven’t is VERY telling.
First off, I didn’t see any evidence in Scripture of Jesus having an audience chamber, much less one that looked like that.
Then even if He did, I can’t imagine Him having something that left one feeling they they had entered the throne room of Satan.

And as we’ve been told on these threads once a Roman Catholic always a Roman Catholic. Might explain how they can claim the numbers they do.

I suspect it’s not going to be as well received by others.

I've used the same argument in Catholic Caucus. It only applies if you don't disagree with what they claim. No kidding.
I tried it too and got very unceremoniously uninvited to participate on the thread, even though I was actually supporting the thread.
It was simply who I was that was enough to set them off. Didn't matter what I was saying.
Funny how they don't want you around when you disagree with them, but when it comes to the numbers game, the 1.2 billion strong, then it's once a Catholic, always a Catholic and I'm counted in that number to *prove* how big their church is (IOW, how right it is because it's so big).

13 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

I’ve said that the Catholic Church is Satan’s greatest work of deception. Think about it, it seems so legitimate with the rituals, incense, candles, statues, stained glass, chants, priestly wear, holy water. It’s gotta be legitimate because it seems so religious, right? And then Satan whispers in their ear and convinces them that those “Protestant” churches are just full of toothless, uneducated, snake handling, southern rednecks who can interpret God’s Holy Word. How can they be the Body of Christ ( true church). It’s actually brilliant on the part of the Great Deceiver. I mean, It’s not like Catholic’s are lost like Mormons and Muslims. Now those are REALLY false religions. Oh, and did I mention that the Catholic Church started with St. Peter the first pope? Another reason why it has to be legitimate.

And that they havent is VERY telling. It is? Mostly it tells me that some of the members of the hierarchy don't have very good artistic taste, either.
But you can tell that just by hearing the so-called "church music" Mass at a few Cathedrals in this country.
Bad taste is not heterodoxy. It's just bad taste.
First off, I didnt see any evidence in Scripture of Jesus having an audience chamber, much less one that looked like that.
The Pope is not Jesus, so I'm not sure of the relevance of that comparison. And Jesus most certainly does have an "audience chamber"; you'll find it described in great detail in Revelation chapter 4.

Numbers don't prove correctness of doctrine. Neither does a church's growth rate -- I fact, I suspect that that may a better proof of
falsity of doctrine.
But I'm also very suspicious of people who claim to have discovered The Real Truth [tm] all on their own, a truth that was hidden for centuries from scholars and saints and everyone else, but has now been revealed to them and their little fellowship somewhere. Jesus expressly said at the Last Supper that that was not how things were going to work.
The Church was the Church when it was eleven scared men and a few women hiding in an upstairs room in Jerusalem. It will still be the Church if that's what it's down to at the end.

Neither numbers nor time impress God.
Hypothetical: if Romans were all someone had could they understand what is required for salvation?

God keeping God's word impresses God. When he said to the Apostles "I will not leave you orphans, I will send you another Paraclete, who will lead you into all truth" he meant every word of it.
Inventing some latter-day "reconstructed gospel" or "reconstructed church" calls God a liar.

Hey, Mormons believe Jesus popped in to the Indians in North America. I mean, when everyone else knows it was Mary that popped down with a Mexican Indian./s
