Thank you for posting the links to those books. Should be interesting and informative reading.
I happen to like prepper manuals disguised as novels. Maybe the quality of the writing is lame (or maybe it is genuinely good), but it is certainly more enjoyable than a dry manual with lists. They also get you thinking about various situations that may apply to you and/or friends in the future.

It has been my experience that preparedness tends to lead to either conservatism or anti-statism.
With that in mind, I applaud this movement.
