The Democrat Outrage Machine - aka Mainstream Media – is busy generating outrage over Attorney General Sessions asking for the resignation of 46 U.S. attorneys appointed by former President Obama

Bill Clinton's administration fired all 93 U.S. attorneys when Janet Reno became attorney general in March 1993.

Reagan replaced 89 of the 93 U.S. attorneys in his first two years in office.

President Bush had 88 new U.S. attorneys in his first two years.

At the beginning of a new presidential administration it is traditional for all 93 U.S. Attorneys to submit a letter of resignation.

When a new President is from a different political party almost all of the resignations will be eventually accepted.

So what's the big deal and why do all the usual suspects have their knickers in a twist? Oh! I forgot...it's because...Trump.

Not that I can tell without doing a full genealogy check.

Google search does not show any relationship.

Yeah that’s what I have found so far also.

It would be poetic justice and I am satisfied with just the sound of it. Perhaps it is a hint that the cosmic scales are beginning to re-balance.

It’s “standard time” because the sun transits the meridian in the middle of the time zone at noon, on average. In other words, on standard time, mean solar time is local time at the middle of the time zone. On daylight saving time, the sun transits the meridian at about 13:00 because clocks are an hour ahead of the sun.

I remember waking up at 5:00 AM in the Western Aleutians (178 East Longitude) where it is two hours ahead of its natural time zone so as not to get too far behind the Continental U.S. In October, when DST was in force, this meant that while the clock said 5:00 AM, the sun thought it was 01:52 HR.

Wiki says: “From 1981 to 1993, he served as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama.”

Free Republic says: “U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Alabama (usdoj.gov) J.B. Sessions, III (1981-1993), replaced by Edward Vulevich, Jr. (1993-95)”

You might think you are being witty with that comment but you are simply exposing your stupidity. It's not about extending the day but about moving an hour of daylight from the early morning - when most people are sleeping or commuting - and moving it to the evening when most working people can benefit from it.

I have always been a worker and I work long hours. During the cold months of winter, I leave home in darkness and return in darkness. Therefore DST is very important to me and others like me. It is very nice to have at least a few months out of the year when I can come home from work and grill a steak in my backyard with a beer or two after work and still have the sun shining down on me.

Great. This means I’ll probably miss the first hour of Rush on Monday again.

Doesn’t Rush have an alarm clock?

No doubt. His show starts an hour earlier during daylight saving time. Except for the Navajo, who are a primitive and superstitious people who seem to believe that casino revenues will collapse if they don’t pfutz with their clocks twice a year, we don’t practice the custom in Arizona.

I think it’s a dumb idea too, wish we didn’t have DST. These plans get into useless habit.

Reminds me of a young lady trying to learn her mother’s fantastic roast beef recipe. Mom started by showing the daughter to cut off the end of the roast, then sprinkle with seasonings. “Why do we cut off the end of the roast?” The daughter wanted to know.

“I don’t know; I’ve just always done it that way. My mom did it that way. Let’s call Grandma and ask.”

They called the elderly Grandma. “Granny, why do we cut off the end of the roast before cooking?”

Grandmother starts laughing. “My pan was always too small!”

From last years DST thread.

What we need is Local Noon Based Time(LNBT) this time would be locally computer generated based on when high noon is at your physical local location. Your day would be exactly the hours between sunrise and sunset. Just like it used to be for centuries. Anything requiring a schedule or coordination, class times, work meetings, conferences would all use GMT. No confusing time zones to worry about.

We might need some new nomenclature for global coordintion but the old standards : morning, afternoon, evening and night should still suffice. Does anybody really KNOW what time it is?
