"Standard Time" is now less than half the year. Does that mean that the time zone you are in during summer is actually your "Standard Time"?
Which is two fewer than Rush will miss. Semi-documented alien talk show host Mark Steyn will be stealing an American talk show job on Monday.
Four months from November to March. If you use the DST time change to check your smoke detector batteries, or any other such thing, maybe you should switch to the Spring and Fall Equinox or Summer/Winter Solstice.
It’s “standard time” because the sun transits the meridian in the middle of the time zone at noon, on average. In other words, on standard time, mean solar time is local time at the middle of the time zone. On daylight saving time, the sun transits the meridian at about 13:00 because clocks are an hour ahead of the sun.
I remember waking up at 5:00 AM in the Western Aleutians (178 East Longitude) where it is two hours ahead of its natural time zone so as not to get too far behind the Continental U.S. In October, when DST was in force, this meant that while the clock said 5:00 AM, the sun thought it was 01:52 HR.
Great. This means I’ll probably miss the first hour of Rush on Monday again.
