Only an idiot wouldn’t already know the obama regime was breaking the law and actively monitoring anyone they felt it may need to squeeze or blackmail. They were lawless. It’s “who they are.”

Another source reporting this, the Daily Mail:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4472052/Obama-s-team-used-NSA-data-gather-info-citizens.html

An absolute lawless disgrace and a forever stain on his Presidency. Legacy? This, along with the Iran deal, the implosion of the ME, and many other areas of sedition and treason are his legacy. The sedition continues with OFA.

Exactly! I hope some investigative reporters and the FBI/Jeff Sessions quietly go snooping around finding the evidence. They can take their time. They have eight years. In the meantime, spy on Obama and his cronies 24/7 as they are domestic enemies. What's good for the goose. . .

The title and bullet points from the Daily Mail article:

Obama's team 'asked for NSA secrets on more than 30,000 Americans in 2016 and circulated 6,000 intelligence reports WITHOUT removing their names'

Officials searched for the names of 30,355 Americans in comms metadata.

That data includes only information such as email addresses and phone numbers.

But they also searched for 5,288 Americans within the communications.

Reports were then passed around government depts with their names visible.

Legally, NSA gathers only data on foreigners using US infrastructure, it claims.

But critics say that it pulls in much more info - including that of US citizens.

Have patience people!

Trump should publicly demand that the house and senate intelligence committees and any other relevant committees state whether or not that sort of activity is legal.

If they all come back and say it was illegal, then he should prosecute everyone involved.

If they come back and say it was OK, then he should say "Fine, then I'm going to do the same with all of you folks in Congress... good luck next election cycle"

Great idea. It's simple. As you say, "relevant committees state whether or not that sort of activity is legal." Just that. Was it legal or not? (I assume they'll say it's illegal) Then you go from there. Same with Hillary. Forget intent. What she did, "Was it legal or not."

I know it's a Duh, but get them to say, for the record, It Was Illegal!

I want to see this TRAITOR to the United States do the PERP WALK.

Let's keep it simple. Obama is a person. He supposedly is a Citizen of the United States.

Did this citizen, let's call him John Doe, violate the law during his eight years as President? Did he do anything that was illegal, anything.

I bet the FBI and Jeff Sessions, if they data-mined carefully all the legalese in all the Federal US Codes, they could find many instances of John Doe breaking the law. Certainly if I were the John Doe, I would be perp walking.

I'll just name one, besides the multiple obvious Spygate issues: Obama knew that Hillary had an undocumented illegal server with classified and Top Secret information on it. He communicated with her on said server. He did not report the use of said server to the FBI. That, as I understand it, is a Felony. Hillary, quoting Rudy Giuliani, violated at least sixteen Federal US Code laws and multiple number of times with each instance.

This nothing will happen meme is insanity and a horrible precedent. If the FBI and the Jeff Sessions Justice Department do nothing with these flagrant violations of law, then future generations will indeed pay the price.

ou are right. No whistle blowers that we know of until recently. The Obama Administration came down heavily on leaks for a reason. Was the IC intimidated? Or were they partisan excusing the actions of a President they supported? Or were they just following orders as many Germans claimed during the Hitler regime?

None of these alternatives are acceptable. And the FISA courts are a joke with approval over 99% of the time. And what about Congressional oversight, which just appears to be a rubber stamp. The only time they got exercised was when the found out Brennan was tapping the Senators phones and computers. Maybe, Congress is afraid to hold the IC accountable because of what personal information the IC has on them.

We are on the cusp of a police state and one that has the technological tools to be the most repressive ever witnessed. We are giving up our privacy and individual rights in the name of the security. It is a slow, insidious process that will be difficult to reverse. We are at the mercy of whoever is at the controls.

This said, I don’t know why President Trump and his new FBI director are so against Assange. Assange and his leaks were one of the forces that helped to bring down Hillary. I believe Candidate Trump even called for Assange to release more emails...

Seems Assange, Circa, and Judicial Watch are the only things standing between Tyranny and our freedom.

Assange leaked over 500,000 State Department cables, many of them classified. They damaged our national security by revealing confidences between our diplomats and foreign leaders, ranking military officers, and national legislators. Besides being embarrassing to the foreign personnel (and possibly putting them in physical danger), they curtailed our ability to develop useful contacts with foreign leaders who cannot depend on us to keep these conversations confidential.

The cables also disclosed American strategic thinking and possible future actions. Assange is no friend of the US and he is dangerous to our interests. He is no hero. He belongs in jail.

Guess we are just going to disagree on this one.

You stated “We are on cusp of police state,...with no whistle blowers”—this is because the system/normal channels are not allowing for whistle blowers to feel safe**, yet the one entity/person to which/whom whistle blowers could confide you want to see imprisoned...Makes no sense to me.

I am not condoning every email release—especially if they resulted in danger; however, Assange was a friend to US by releasing the emails right before the election...can you imagine “President Hillary?”

Who is not to say we may not have a tyrant in the future...The checks and balances have not been working, and I see Assange as a necessary evil of sorts, a check and balance—perhaps the only one as he is not in the US and is not a US citizen.

Frankly, given the fragility of our freedom because of the increasing power of the deep state, embarrassment does not concern concern me.

IF the administration is willing to negotiate with NORKS, so why not with Assange?

**I am sure you are aware of the fate of Binny and Drake, two former deep staters who attempted Whistle blowing in the system...and then of course there is Seth Rich...whose fate was far worse than either of theirs...
