There were a few clusters of un-patched systems that got clobbered.
But most machines were never infected by WannaCry.
It’s time to SUE those corporations that do not patch their systems to current standards and have inadequate perimeter security and procedures...if they end up denying paid-for services.
The hackers will always be there. The REAL problem is lax security on the part of corporate networks.

We keep a modest amount of gold, silver, and copper coins around just in case of such a thing. We live in Wyoming and if the SHTF one of the first things people will stop believing in will be paper currency.
There’s nothing backing it but faith and if that faith gets tested then a stack of $100 bills won’t be enough to buy a tank of gas.

I have said for the longest time, all it takes to halt all communication in America is to shut down the internet and all cell towers. Poof. We cannot communicate with each other. I still have a land line and could contact others with a landline, but we are going the way of the dinosaur.
It is amazing how easy it would be to instantaneously halt all communication between us if the government so desired.
