Bravo to the the Deschutes County Sheriff's Office and the Oregonian for helping release the truth from that cage

The truth will always out. The truth will always out even when top authorities squat on it for five long months in efforts to suppress it from ever finding sunlight.

“An FBI agent has been indicted and accused of lying about firing shots at slain Oregon militia member LaVoy Finicum during a fatal roadside encounter, according to (a) report.” (NY Daily News, June 28, 2017)

I wonder how long it will take for normalcy to return?

“I wonder how long it will take for normalcy to return?”

Right after Lon Horiuchi gets sentenced for all the murders he got away with.

On the surface, the LaVoy Finicum case seems to have a lot of similarities to the Philando Castile case. I suspect the FBI man will claim that he felt threatened and that Finicum did not obey instructions just like the cop who shot Philando did.

The FBI is full of dirty cops from top to bottom. What a shame. Obama’s legacy lives on.

A genuine case of Hands Up, Don’t Shoot.

I think neither LaVoy Finicum nor Philando Castile should have died. But in both cases, I think it was subpar training that led to panic and not premeditated murder that was the culprit.

And will the case be tried before the judge that has lawyers beaten in his courtroom?

My understanding is that he's been indicted for falsifying details regarding the incident, rather than for the incident itself -- plus, IIRC it was Washington State LEs, not FBI, who shot him.

I get why the ranchers were doing what they were doing, but driving away from police, and then jumping out of the vehicle and running around...Not great ideas.

Yes, they were scared and being shot at, yes Finicum exited the vehicle probably to prevent everyone else in it from being hit, yes the snow was deep and tripped his balance...But nonetheless, nothing that happened contributed anything towards making the law enforcement less nervous.

Take what we can get. IMHO, just another small clue that things are starting to change. In a good way.

He shot at Finicum. Without legal justification that’s aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

What’s this “perjury” BS?

Yours is a very uneducated statement, and the two events are nothing like each other. If you watch the tape, you will see that the police/FBI narrative regarding the shooting was a lie. The roadblock was illegally placed and constituted an improper use of deadly force. In addition to this, Lavoy started braking (you can see it in the video) as soon as the roadblock became visible, yet the police started engaging the vehicle.

Because of the illegal use of deadly force by the police, Lavoy actually would have been legally allowed to use deadly force to defend himself and the police lost that right.

The FBI was trying to execute someone in that car regardless of what they did, Lavoy was just the one that drew the short end of the stick.
