GOP leaders plan to whip lawmakers on whether they'd back a conservative, $1 trillion government funding bill.
House GOP leaders will decide next week whether to brave an ugly floor fight over a massive GOP spending bill — a proposal applauded by some rank-and-file Republicans but that risks embarrassment if it fails.
In a closed-door GOP conference meeting Friday morning, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy said all 12 appropriations bills will be finished in committee by the end of next week. Starting Monday, leadership will begin a tentative whip count on whether lawmakers would vote for a package before the August recess that combines all of those bills into one $1 trillion government funding bill.
The idea, first proposed by Rep. Tom Graves, a senior appropriator, is to give House Republicans a chance to pass a red-meat spending bill that will lay out GOP priorities. Though the bill would never pass the Senate in the face of Democratic opposition, the process would allow House Republicans to offer potentially hundreds of amendments, an exercise that excites members who are frustrated that they’ve had no input on how to fund the government.

Which is exactly why I doubt its veracity. These days every breathless YUGE breaking news report requires a gaggle of co-conspirators and anonymous sources. Usually, the source is a fiction and, I suspect, it works as follows. One guy writes the story and the other two are the sources.

ummm, that is the antithesis of conservatice. Just because it was authored by douchebags with (R) after their name does not make it any less corrupt and cronyistic, its just for different cronies than the democrats like.
Unlike Flip, I don’t doubt ther veracity or at least the principal gist of their intentions.
The only way to stop the spending cycle and the corruption is to vacate The Hill. We don’t need a government at all if this is the government we are going to get.
Ummm ... I take it that the Democrats were never partisan in their spending bills? Of course none of them got passed of the few that were proposed during the Obama years.

Regarding the spending bill, I wouldn’t be surprised if the post-17th Amendment ratification, state sovereignty-ignoring GOPe is still stubbornly ignoring major constitutional limits on federal spending, particularly with respect to unconstitutional federal spending programs like Obamacare.
More specifically, first note that a previous generation of state sovereignty-respecting justices had clarified that Congress is prohibited from appropriating taxes in the name of state power issues, essentially any issue that Congress cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers. This is evidenced by the following excerpt.
”Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” - Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
In fact, with respect to Obamacare, note that Congress is likewise wrongly ignoring that state sovereignty-respecting justices had also clarified that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for INTRAstate healthcare purposes.
”State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress [emphases added].” —Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
”From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added].” —United States v. Butler, 1936.
Based on the Court’s clarification of Congress’s limited power to appropriate taxes, here is a rough approximation of how much taxpayers should be paying Congress annually to perform its Section 8-limited power duties imo.
Given that the plurality of clauses in Section 8 deal with defense, and given that the Department of Defense budget for 2015 was $500+ billion, I will generously round up the $500+ billion figure to $1 trillion (but probably much less) as the annual price tag of the federal government to the taxpayers, not the $5 trillion annual budget that was being projected for the feds before Trump was elected.
In other words, the corrupt media should not be reporting multi-trillion dollar annual federal budgets in budget discussions without mentioning the Supreme Court’s clarification of Congress’s limited power to appropriate taxes.
Patriots need to get Trump up to speed on the idea that a good percentage of the federal taxes that he, his rich friends, and possibly all other taxpayers have been paying throughout their lives are probably unconstitutional.
Patriots need to work with Trump to put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes. Once unconstitutional federal taxes are stopped the states will probably find a tsunami of new revenues (higher state taxes) that they won’t know what to do with, establishing their own healthcare and retirement social spending programs for starters.

Since Trump entered the ’16 presidential race too late for patriots to make sure that there were state sovereignty-respecting candidates on the primary ballots, patriots need make sure that such candidates are on the ’18 primary ballots so that they can be elected to support Trump in draining the unconstitutionally big federal government swamp.
Such a Congress will also be able to finish draining the swamp with respect to getting the remaining state sovereignty-ignoring, activist Supreme Court justices off of the bench.
Noting that the primaries start in Iowa and New Hampshire in February ‘18, patriots need to challenge candidates for federal office in the following way.
While I Googled the primary information above concerning Iowa and New Hampshire, FReeper iowamark brought to my attention that the February primaries for these states apply only to presidential election years. And after doing some more scratching, since primary dates for most states for 2018 elections probably haven’t been uploaded at this time (March 14, 2017), FReepers will need to find out primary dates from sources and / or websites in their own states.
Patriots need to qualify candidates by asking them why the Founding States made the Constitution’s Section 8 of Article I; to limit (cripple) the federal government’s powers.
Patriots also need to find candidates that are knowledgeable of the Supreme Court's clarifications of the federal government’s limited powers listed above.
Anyone who thinks you can spend your way out of years of huge over budget spending orgies is dumber than dumb. And really does not care about America.
