Fox News host Sean Hannity hit Fox News chief anchor and managing editor Shepard Smith this week in response to his criticism of President Trump, calling Smith "so anti-Trump."
Shep is a friend, I like him, but hes so anti-Trump," said Hannity, a staunch supporter of the president. "He went off on a rant last week. That's fine, but [the opinion is] different."
Smith hit Trump last week, slamming the Trump administration for its "constant flip-flopping between narratives" on the Donald Trump Jr. meeting that took place in June 2016.
They tell us theres nothing to this, that nothing came of it, theres a nothingburger, it wasnt even memorable, didnt write it down, didnt tell you about it cause it wasnt anything so I didnt even remember it. Why all these lies? Why is it lie after lie after lie? Smith asked in a clip that went viral.
Hannity's comments about Smith were made during a radio interview Monday with deputy adviser Sebastian Gorka, who has been active on the interview front in recent weeks. The Fox News host said during the segment that there was a wide range of views among Fox News reporters, noting that there were more anti-Trump and 'Never Trump' people at the network than it may appear.
"Shep Smith disagrees with me, and he does so vehemently," Hannity said. "Fine, I have no problem with it."
"I'll say this about the Fox News Channel, there are voices on Fox that drive me nuts," Hannity continued. "Like Shep and I been friends for years, we just respect we don't agree. And the media was praising Shep and he's not the biggest fan of Trump, fine! We don't talk politics when we hang out, when I see him we have the best time, and we just have this mutual respect."
Smith, 53, and Hannity, 55, have both been with Fox News since its inception in 1996.
In an interview with Hannity on his primetime Fox News program last week, Trump Jr. lambasted media coverage of his meeting with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya and the Russia probe in general.
I think the mainstream media has done themselves a pretty big disservice by going so far, by going so extreme, by being so sensational. And I think its pushing regular people away, the president's eldest son said.
When I think of Shep I can't help but think of the peculiar ways he engages in sex (I really wish my mind didn't take me there but it does). I suppose I've somehow resisted sexual norming...
It’s not fine for Smith to have an opinion. Not his job. Get an opinion show, Shep. Let’s see how well that goes.
Everybody has known Shep is a homosexual since they first saw him on the screen. His “coming-out” was the biggest nothing since Shake-a-pudding.
"...Sean Sean matey,be careful that squid can give you such a pinch"
Since Shep is gay, Sean’s comment could be taken as sexual harassment by the new liberal Fox News management and used as an excuse to suspend/fire Hannity.
Shepard Smith merits a demotion. He is NOT a hard news man.
Sorry about the use of “hard” but that’s the word used in the industry to describe his current, designated position at Fox News.
Smith is not supposed to insert his opinions, but he most assuredly does almost every broadcast.
There it is. The Shep mind worm is back. Argh...
Exactly. In fact I wrote Fox news and told them that Shepard Smith is supposed to be a hard news guy not an opinion person and that they should tell him so.
“Fox News chief anchor and managing editor Shepard Smith”
He’s chief anchor and managing editor??? Then why is he hidden away during the afternoon hours when no one watches news?
Every once in a while, when there’s a natural disaster or something, they interrupt scheduled prime time programming and put him on. But when that happens, I assume everyone changes the channel like I do.
The other thing you’ll notice us that Shepard Smith has no friends. When have you ever seen him invited on another show as a guest?
Actually, I’m going to quick get off this thread before someone posts a picture.
Shep would be a nice addition to MSNBC or CNN.
I just call him “SO GAY” it’s SICKENING TO WATCH!!!
But Hannity neglected to point out that Smith is homosexual. I point that out because Smith very much wants everyone to know that he is homosexual. Much more important that the mere fact he is anti-Trump.
Shep has his eye on a LEMON ?
G ay
A ids
Y et?
“Since Shep is gay, Seans comment could be taken as sexual harassment by the new liberal Fox News management and used as an excuse to suspend/fire Hannity.”
Ah, com’on ...Doncha recall the black dude you use to see sitting by a window as you walked by the bank? (back in the 50s and 60s)
Well, now they have to have a “window queer”... I guess to show fairness like they did back then many moons ago...??
