Please explain how grown men playing with plastic dolls (ponies) isn’t perverted?

I am sure my daughter will want to go see it again, so I get a chance to go. The movie combines two of her favorite things, My Little Pony and mermaids. I am her father but we are also like best friends or dear friends. She has a best friend but that girl is moving away now. Luckily she has many friends. Friends are extra important for an only child so we always encourage her to be friendly. Which is a natural trait she has.

I think they are into the characters. Not sexually. It’s not perverted if it isn’t a sex thing.

Enjoy it. I’m loving it too. With my sons, the best friends with mom thing ended often around 12. Then they had to separate for about 10 years. Part of life. Thrn the oldest has come back from being his own person and we have the best conversations. I don’t know how it will be with my only girl child.

Watching the full out ignorance on this thread for such an innocuous thing as this movie, sadly proves many of the lefts characatures of the right correct.

I have watched every episode of this show with my young daughter, and it’s quite honestly the most wholesome show I have found on TV that wasn’t a rerun in a long time.

This is one of the few shows you can watch with your children without poofer propaganda or SJW nonsense... yet here we are having people bash it without any knowledge of it.

Believe me, no one was more surprised than I was when I started watching this with my daughter years ago how wholesome this show is, especially considering it’s basically produced by a toy company.

Those that are blindly bashing this show as showing their abject ignorance, and frankly don’t know who their friends are. This IS they type of show that should be getting praise, so more like it are made, rather than bashing by ignorant folks who make presumptions about it.

Haha yes my daughter went through a phase around 3-4 where there was a witch in her closet I had to check for every night.

Miss those days, she just turned 10.

Same here - when I ceded the remote to the girls I was pleasantly surprised by the recent TV shows. I probably know the first “My Little Pony” movie songs by heart, just by being in the same house.

What is it that drew you in?

I first noticed the "brony" phenomenon online in 2011. I thought "Dudes, watching My Little Pony? What's up with this?!?". Eventually I noticed there were full episodes on YouTube. On March 23, 2012 at about 10PM I watched Season one Episode one and thought "This isn't bad". I watched the second episode and thought "This is pretty good actually". By the third episode I was like "What the heck have I gotten myself into!?!". In less than an hour I was hopelessly hooked. I quickly watched all the rest of the episodes, joined the meetup group, made a bunch of nerdy friends, was in an a Capella singing group for a while and have been to BronyCon three times. It's been an amazing experience.

Unlike most cartoons MLP-FIM is well written (closer to adult sitcom level than kid's show)with complex, relatable characters. Many bronies are introverts and the show is like Socializing 101. The fandom is amazing; incredibly friendly and accepting along with being wildly creative. Try keeping up with all the fan made art, music and videos.

I saw the movie tonight with the Boston Brony group. It's a pretty good movie with a decent story line. I personalty didn't care for the new style of animation. We had a good time hanging out before and after the movie.

I'm the big dude on the left in the black and orange t-shirt.

You see nothing wrong with an adult male - not a child and not WITH their own child, being absorbed with a children’s cartoon?

“Some of the best times of my life were watching tv with the kids:”

Same here. And it’s the reason why I hope I never see another animated movie as long as I live.

That should be the worst of our problems. I’m into freedom. For me, but also for you. And him. I have no desire to shame or be shamed into doing the one proper way of living.
