Agreed. He’s a pig.
“Perhaps Cam should take the time to realize that the NFL has hired Sarah Thomas as a field official and Terri Valenti as an official for the New York replay group determining NFL replay.”
Why mention this? It sounds like a warning that they may be biased against him. I know thats not what you are saying but that meaning is embedded.
As for qualifications, I have no doubt there are women qualified in football knowledge. For me, though, its more a traditional thing, the lingo, the way guys talk football is different. John Madden had to be my favorite.
On the other hand, many of the men announcing NFL these days are essentially feminized Shep Smith clones already. I watch hardly any NFL these days anyway so they can go full-fledged PC for all I care.
First sign of sanity from the ‘oppressed class’ of the NFL (i.e., the multi-millionaire ‘minority’ players).
But don’t sweat it, Leftists, he’ll be cut down to size.
Hey! Wait a minute! I have dibs!
Was he belittling the sports gal or was it a racist response?
One of the biggest problems with the NFL at this time is their determination that black Americans shouldn’t be put into one category of person that is a throwback to the deep south in the early years of this country.
Even innocent humor in that direction could be attacked by people. Look what it did to Fuzzy Zoeller. He made a joke about Tiger Woods’ upcoming choice of the cuisine for the tournament dinner in the locker room away from the press, and it got out and Woods originally laughed it off. But he got a call from Jess Jackson and it got ugly the next day. Zoeller apologized, but his career was over as he lost a number of sponsors and left the tour.
What Newton did with his words and presentation to her was negative stereotyping. And that is the exact thing in question now about the NFL.
You asked me “Why mention this?” It was done to indicate that there are women working in the sport at the highest level and successful at it. So, his mocking women about having knowledge of the game is demeaning and insulting. Especially when he obviously has no idea what he is talking about as displayed. And he wants respect. He needs to try giving some of it and he might get it. There are numerous names for men who demean women. And all of them are belittling.
