A mass casualty drill in a stadium could literally kill the NFL. Attendance would drop to near zero.
One motive that is not discussed much is the desire to put a personal stamp on history. Killing off the NFL would be such an action.
Yes, most jihadists who express a desire to join ISIS and bomb the infidels is going to probably meet an undercover FBI agent.
Which makes a long-range sniper attack on a big crowd a bigger risk. One man, one rifle, one penned-in crowd is all it takes, and the FBI will have little chance of discovering the super-simple plot in advance.
Even morons are going to glom onto the idea after Las Vegas, which is why I wrote this article now.

Easy answer: No, it’s not a credible threat.
Why is it not a credible threat - simple: because it hasn’t happened yet.

But I will say one other thing. People who invest in companies that can build covers over stadiums (if any companies like that exist), will be FILTHY RICH in a decade, since open-air stadiums will be a thing of the past.
I don’t think it will be easy to retrofit covers over most stadiums, but we’ll see them try if this happens.

Yes, the FLEA’s are absolutely corrupt. And NFL leadership, who can’t even decide if and when to enforce their own Code of Conduct in regards to their employees, surely isn’t doing the kind of planning and collaboration with all levels of law enforcement to prevent, detect, or react to this type of threat.
So, let’s review the mental gymnastics of the modern day NFL ticket holder:
1) Willing to pay an exorbitant fee to attend a game played by fellow citizens who disrespect our Nation’s Flag, those who’ve fought, bled and died for it, and our National Anthem.
2) Willing to spend 4 hours in the company of angry, drunk people who lack sound judgement, manners and shout profanities at the top of their lungs.
3) Willing to expose themselves, friends, family, etc., to a MCE with no egress and no ability or desire to counter the threat individually or collectively. Thus, stampede.
I’m sure there are more, but the point is that there are thousands of them from coast to coast. We are truly a nation of sheep.
