It’s just smart to have a good supply of freeze-dried food packs on hand for emergencies. I prefer “Mountain House” brand myself, not cheap but they are good tasting meals. Just add hot water.

Wise practices a 21st century version of something the Incas started in roughly 1200 A.D., when they placed meat strips on high-altitude stone platforms to freeze overnight and then dry in the sun to make charqui, a proto-beef jerky.

Bloomburg is full of nitwits apparently.

Sorry dudes but people have been freezing and drying meat and other foods for several thousand years before the Inca began their experiment in imperialism and genocide of their neighbors.

We keep one year of food and three 55 gallon blue plastic water drums at all times. Ya never know. :-)

Yeah, and here would come some liberal committee to your house demanding you turn it over to the community welfare kitchen for the common good because of those that didn't bother to prepare.

(satire but I wouldn't put it past liberals to do that)

Right. Here in WA there was talk about a “Safety Committee” who would come to your house to ask you if you’re keeping your guns safe and want to see if they are. Really.

Around here that “committee”wouldn’t make it very far.

Sell we don’t share that info locally and that’s one of many reasons we have guns. :-)

That’s what AR’s are for, when the “redistribution council” shows up at your door.

And here they’d be pushing their car down the forest service road my folks live on - all the tires would have leaked air and the radiator leaking.

“Jackson is the 42-year-old chief executive officer of Wise Co., a leading brand in survival foods”

I’m not sure I’d consider POTATO CHIPS as a survival food, but then I usually have other choices.

I have a bug-out bag that has a week's worth of food, supplies, and warm clothing.

For long-term (If there's a huge snowstorm like in 1978, for example) I have 3 totes of canned food. 1 tote of medical equipment. A 90-day supply of My Patriot Supply emergency food. And a tote of instant coffee, liquor, & beer. And a dozen gallons of drinking water.

Not to mention my guns.

Government and politicians aren't going to protect you. Now, IMHO, is an excellent time to be prepared. People think that survivalists and preppers are these beady-eyed, buck-tooth hillbillies holding "The End is Near" signs. But nothing could be further from the truth.

You can create a great Bug-out bag for just $100, and get it at the Dollar Store.

I’d be happy to show them on my terms.....

Well, after a few brief comments from the locals that idea was not followed.

Safety Committee: We're here to check on how you're safely storing your guns

Home Owner: Well, I do have a problem with them.

Safety Committee: Oh, and what that might be?

Home Owner: Too many bullets. >BLAM<

Safety Committee: Oh Lordy, our tire just went flat!
