I’m a civilian so I don’t know military terminology. Whatever info he has to submit, the army is “slow walking” the paperwork. I guess they think he will change his mind(They will be disappointed) He’s been thinking about this for years but he’s finally had enough.
Yep - I went through the same thing back in the early 90s. A bit speedier due to the draw downs at the time, but surface fleet was loosing too many so it still took a bit.
Didn’t drill the first few years in the reserves and ended up failing to promote the summer before 9/11. 6 more months and I’d have been force retained despite that. I regret it at times - missing the camaraderie and time on the ocean, but I don’t regret my family time or the other things I”ve been able to do.
I have little doubt he’ll be the same.
He did enjoy of his job. When he got to do it.
Made friends of whom a few he keeps in contact although the army sent them to different parts of the world.
