True enough ... so let's see if the British government follows the lead of Schiavo's husband who, because she too kept living when taken off the ventilator, found a judge who allowed him -- ruling against her parents "in the name of justice", mind you -- to cut off her food and water and she, of course, could not survive that horror.
Yes but for now they can rationalize to themselves and other big government fans that their actions were noble, sparing the child needless suffering. But only if the baby hurries up and dies before even their supporters begin to wonder if they are actually monsters. If he lingers or, god forbid, actually lives then the whole system gets a black eye. In their minds, better one baby be murdered than their apple cart get upset.
So their not just cruel and heartless, they are indeed evil. But I'm sure they don't see it that way, they likely say we are evil for fighting to keep this baby alive and threatening their entire death panel system.
Why are we even allied with these people.
And the president is travelling to England on Friday, July 13th for an official visit. Good luck with that.

Several years ago I read a story about a British woman who was diagnosed with cancer. She had spent a large part of her career on a committee within the National Health Service, which, in essence, made cancer treatment much rarer. The very same committee, all of which knew her, did the same thing for her; making the appointments between diagnosis and treatment so lengthy that the disease had progressed to the point where it was untreatable. In a way, it was heartening that this insider got the same treatment that the regular people got. The irony dripped off the article and formed a caustic puddle on my linoleum floor. At the end of it, I simply said, “Well, good.”
I knew a former British citizen, now American.
He regularly got appointments for his relatives. They’d fly over, he would take them to the doctor. If they had something serious, they’d stay with him while it was treated. I have read that this is illegal. If they are caught they can be denied all future care.
In the original Obamacare, individuals could be excluded from care by name. That’s some awesome power the government has. This is probably why we don’t read more from Canada and Britain on how bad the service really is; because the government can retaliate.

From what I understand, the Italian hospital is offering to treat Alfie for free, so the NHS/taxpayers are not on the hook for his long term care.
Nothing was more clear to me about healthcare in the UK than the opening ceremony at the 2012 London Olympics.
I was raised in the 1960s and read all the great books about the British, the British Empire, the Royal Navy. Loved the Hornblower series, Oliver Twist, just about everything from Dickens. Studied the atlas and the globe, looking at the far reaches of the Empire. I loved the fact that, while Yanks had to have a revolution, the British were our cousins, and while they didn’t have our form of government or the Bill of Rights, an Englishman was as free as an American anyway.
But 2012? Instead of seeing pride in the Royal Navy or Empire, what we saw was a worship service to the NHS. Nurses dancing, patients lying on beds ... good heavens.
Only people with a Stalinist bent would do this. It’s like watching an Olympics in Moscow and having the Soviets do a dance to the wheat harvest or the gulag.
The Brits showed some resolve and backbone when they voted for Brexit. They need to not lose faith. They need to take back their government.
They may worship royalty but the Monarchy is all fantasy with petty power. The UK government is the real ruler that is more like a Soviet style state with a little Nazi thrown in.
True, but technically the royal family has only delegated power to the PM and the MP’s. There is still no official limit on their own power. Whatever the case, the Bill of Rights is the best thing we Americans have that they don’t. It’s also the first thing Leftists in this country would get rid of if they could.
