I just said that exact same thing!
I should read the whole thread first!
Yeah, someone else told me that, too. I’m now straight and single. And here I thought “bachelor” was a benign term.
And yet, some chump on here is scratching his head saying "I don't know what this is all about, nor do I want too."
Y E A R S.
Didnt you know that a bachelor party just before a wedding day was the day a guy went from being gay to bi?
(Me either. A bachelor is an unmarried male.)
If these incels wanted to nest with the political right or left, I think they would be equally unwelcome and more to the point, their cause is largely apolitical in nature.
Has to be about a 99% male organization in any case, the idea of an involuntary celibate woman is ridiculous on the face of it.
That's what I thought. I told a woman I was a bachelor the other day. She said there was nothing wrong with that. Now I know her reply could have had more than one meaning.
(I asked her out for coffee. She said, "I don't know; I'll have to think about that." I guess that's a form of being let down gently.)
But feminism and the sexual revolution has altered that plain old scenario and the 1 - 4 women are throwing themselves at the 5 - 10 ranked men without any commitment to marriage, which leaves the 1 - 4 men without any options of marriage, family and procreation.
Some of those 1 - 4 men have given up trying. It doesn't help our society to ignore that it is going on. And it certainly doesn't help society as a whole to ignore the possibility that this involuntary celibacy has a profound effect on the young men out there and what it does to them mentally.
As I understand it, at the bar scene, roughly 80 percent of the women throw themselves at the top 20 percent of men. I don’t believe all young women are like that; I see plenty of young couples walking around holding hands. Plenty of people still get married, too, although whether those marriages are destined to last, I have no idea.
Some of the incels are role-playing. You find that a lot in anonymous forums.
Some of them are “priests”. They consider themselves hetero but they only have sex with men. They consider sex outside marriage with women to be immoral. I have a close friend who is gay and he had a boyfriend who was married. The married guy trashed women as “sluts and golddiggers”. Except for his wife and daughter of course. But her sisters were tramps.
And the sociological, physiological and mental damage it does to the participants.
And a marriage could form with a sexually worn out 1 - 4 to a beta 1 - 4 male. But her addiction to the @ock Carousel will not lessen after getting married, thus divorce and she takes half. Adding more pressure on the incel to ignore women and financial ruin(another can of words for another thread).
But what worries me more is that on FR, the land of the open mind and amateur philosopher, most refuse to even consider that this modern phenomenon has terrible ramifications for our society and it should only be pointed at and laugh at. Keep that in mind when another incel storms the school yard with armed insurrection on his mind.
All true, FRiend. But it does not chance my point.
I agree. The old way — the societal expectation that people should get their @$$es married and stay married — was better.
The incel phonomenon’s roots could also partially explain the rampant jihad in polygynous Moslem societies.
It is weird if you think about it because they have had no attack of toxic feminism on their societal order. There are just not enough first cousin females to go around.
In the west, it is very difficult to understand the problem, harder to come up with workable solutions.
Free Republic is hardly a bastion of sexual morality, nor does it try to be.
At one time this place was home to an active “moral absolutes” ping list.
Basically the site moderators strangled that part of the community over its insistence that adults having sex with minors is always wrong. The libertinarians hate that insistence.
I get what you are saying, but sexual morality was not the main thrust of my post.
That’s sick. I’ve fallen for much younger women before, but they have always been adults.
And that, among other reasons, is why we all need Jesus.
With the availability of prostitutes, it becomes a matter of choice. If for ethical or religious reasons they decline the opportunity, their celibacy is no longer involuntary. May God comfort those who choose to follow His law.
