"One of the biggest arguments against the Democratic Party is centered around racism, so we ask the question, are the Democrats racist?
Through-out the years, their members/affiliates have made blatant and also subtle racist remarks which the party does not deny (mostly). The interesting part, though, is that their main line of defense is a claim that doesnt really have any grounds to it. The claim is that the Democratic and Republican parties have at some point switched stances in terms of racism."

This is an extremely informative post on racism and the Democratic Party. Roughly 45 hours was put into the research alone and citations are provided, this makes for a good reference point and not just an opinion piece.
Welcome to Free Republic. Our Welcoming Committee will be here soon.

Q: When did the Democrat party become the Democratic party in name?
Look at the Wilmington Insurrection.
Detailed history of racism in the DemoKKKrat Party
Fixed it so as to avoid any confusion. Much better now?
My research shows that the Democrats started in the 1790’s but evolved at a later date to the current party that we know. If I had to guess, I would say around Andrew Jackson’s time frame.
My article wasn’t as focused on the origins of the Party, but more so on the racial aspect. Since of course, they parade around calling everyone who disagrees with them racist.
Thanks for the welcome, this seems like a good community.
You’re going to become the recipient of his wrath since you didn’t ping him when you referenced him. ;-)
Okay - thanks - but I knew how the party started at first as the Democrat party but of late I keep hearing about the Democratic party which to me, grammatically speaking, doesn’t make grammatical sense.
Post #2 already did that, so I didn’t think it necessary. Heh.
You’re going to get flamed every time you post one of your own blog entries, even if it’s not a bad post.
There are several FReepers who specialize in such rebukes.
I thought the flames were more common on excerpted blogs, not on those posted in their entirety.
This writing is so painfully bad.
LOL...I saw this thread, and knew right away the likelihood of the Ozone Smell was going to be strong!
They keep trying, though.
Don’t worry about them. You’ll find out if the management has a real problem with you.
However, the management here is liberal in the true and good sense of the word, while being quite nicely conservative.
I think you are already making a substantial contribution here.
I would be surprised if that summary is the entirety of the blog posting.
LOL, if it is, the poster may not last as long blogging as he or she will being a blog pimper on FR!
That said, I am not against an occasional blogger started thread...this person is new enough they simply might not know the breach of etiquette he or she performed.
I have an extremely simple analysis.
Leftists (democrats) are only good at proposing really terrible things, and wrecking good things.
As such, they were opposed to civil rights laws when such laws were actually a good idea (pre civil war to about 1960).
And then, they embraced increasing such legislation past the point where it actually did some good. In other words they embraced it only when the situation had been dealt with and further legislation was actually harmful!
It is like being against penicillin right up to the point that the patient is recovering (from doses of penicilling), then demanding MORE penicillin be given to the cured patient - which will kill him.
They are always wrong and destructive.
What simpler way could two political camps be constructed? One, basically right; the other, wrong.
It is a great community. However, it is considered a breach of etiquette at best, and a mortal sin at worst, to post an excerpt from your own blog here.
If you sign up on Free Republic, you want to avoid just posting a piece of your blog. I think it is okay if you post the entire piece from your blog, just not an excerpt.
For good reason. They don’t want people coming on here trying to pump up hits on their blog. I understand that.
You are new, so you should expect some folks to come after you. Be contrite, say you didn’t know the rules...and don’t do it again. You will be welcome here if you do, and you are a conservative.
