Dean had a great set of pipes. The guy could sing anything.
Written by a husband-wife duo.
Performed by that husband-wife duo.
“Santa Baby” was also declared provocative by one station. Don’t remember which station. Go figure.
These libs keep trying to divide and conquer.
That's a great version, and it was also a hit. In 1949, several acts scored with the tune, which charted in the spring and summer of that year.
I like the version by Homer and Jethro with June Carter.Later those three performed it on a TV special hosted by June’s husband, Johnny Cash.
Btw one artist doesn’t perform a Christmas song he used to do; Weird Al Yankovic recorded Christmas at Ground Zero in the 80s.A spoof of Phil Spector type Yule tunes.Originally Ground Zero referred to the site of a nuclear bomb blast etc. “What a crazy fluke we’re gonna get nuked on this jolly holiday”.After 9/11, Al said, so many people associated Ground Zero with the Twin Towers that he doesn’t perform it live anymore.
Let’s just say the tune pre-dates me by quite a lot, but since the usual suspects are in a snit I had to listen to it. Guess I’d had to have heard it before. Didn’t pay any attention to it I guess. Pretty catchy tune! Seems like it would be tough to sing, with the counter melody deal goin’ on. It really illustrates what a bunch of wankers the leftists have become.
The same people and radio stations who banned the song play rap music that glorifies killing cops, beating women etc.
I was born in 58 and thought that anything before rock was foggy music...with the exception of Dino. Dino was clearly cool even to my 10 year old eyes.
I like that version, too. It was also a chart hit.
Can’t find the one about rap songs beating women killing white cops.........................................................

I was listening to the old Burl Ives rendition of Holly Jolly Christmas. I'm pretty sure that one will be next for the crime of mentioning the mistletoe (hung where you can see), and the instruction to "kiss her once for me". Another cute, flirtatous comment that is not allowed any more.
