Many of you may have read that Cardinal George Pell has been convicted of sexual misconduct in Melbourne, Australia. You may not know that the jury reached the guilty verdict on the basis of the evidence of one anonymous complainant about events alleged to have happened in the 1990’s.

Australia’s second longest serving Prime Minister John Howard (called a “man of steel” following 9/11 by Bush 2) has written a character reference for Pell.

The fundamental principle of the Western tradition that a conviction needs evidence proving guilt beyond reasonable doubt has been denied to George Pell. This is the Brett Kavanagh story in reverse.

I have experienced the ways in which the courts of Melbourne are misused in the modern era. When promoting replication of art works and memorial tree plantings from Douglas MacArthur’s WW2 waterhole in Morotai where my dad served in 1945, the courts and police were used to strip me of freedom of speech at election time to protect a member of the left leaning Labor Party from my patriotic lobbying. The West is in a massive culture war. Religion, democracy, freedom and patriotism are under attack from forces that have no respect for the traditions which made us great.

Donald Trump remains the great hope for freedom in America in 2020.

The Labor Party in Australia looks favourite to win an election due in May this year. I dread that outcome.

As allies we Western nations beat fascism in WW2.

But can we beat the enemies of freedom within our nations now?

I hope Pell survives Maximum Security, where they are holding him --- until the end of his appeal --- in a 23 hour/day seclusion cell.

And if he survives, I hope he prevails.

As I have posted before, the left learned how to effectively mount an inversion campaign with the assistance of the media during the Viet Nam conflict. After 1968 the tide fully turned but even before there was a strong counter narrative being pushed by the left about not just the bona fides of the war but about American culture and society in general. The normative view that the US was a huge success and had managed the near impossible of creating a mass middle class society that , as was shown with the Civil Rights struggle, could manage to peacefully (mostly) conduct a major social reform operation. Instead the left used the war to indite the US and Americans in general and their culture and history as murderous hypocrites whose brutish corruption was shown up by the ‘atrocious’ conduct of the war. Normal patriotic, law abiding males who were drafted or enlisted in the armed services were very effectively stigmitized as either dumb victims or psychopathic killers. What was amazing was how well this resonated with much of the more affluent and better formally educated Americans. Being a veteran of service in Viet Nam was only honored within the armed forces during the latter years of the war and after. I know because of direct personal experience with close family members.

The same thing is now going on with the goal of ‘fundamental transformation’ of the US and its culture through normalizing the deviant and destructive and stigmatizing the normal, traditional, historical and patriotic culture. The chief target are normal,law abiding, patriotic, straight males. The same stigmatization and vilification that was successfully used against males who served in the armed forces during the Viet Nam war is now being done to all normal males.

I fear I must agree with you. What is happening in the USA is Russian interventionx not with Trump but with our Media and society. Those who have had it so easy are think freedom is easy and can be conned other life can be easier.

Those who earned their freedom realise the mass of others that are willing to fight and die to take that freedom away.

The enemy never sleeps, Greed and envy is eternal and must be resisted with diligence and righteousness. The key is God, without His help we are not strong enough to resist our own sin, nonetheless others.
