Mueller screwed this up as badly as did Comey

In his brief address Robert Mueller said he would say no more about his work as a Special Prosecutor

Special Counsel Robert Mueller vowed Wednesday to never speak again about the Russia investigation in a press conference on Wednesday announcing his resignation.

“Now, I hope and expect this to be the only time that I will speak to you in this manner. I am making that decision myself. No one has told me whether I can or should testify or speak further about this matter,” he said.

He did not explain why he did not want to discuss the investigation again, but left hanging members of Congress on both sides of the aisle who had hoped he could answer lingering questions.

He said any testimony he or anyone else from the office gave would not go beyond their report.

The problem is that he had once again done damage. He muddied the waters even more:

Robert Mueller, in his only public remarks on the Russia investigation since being appointed special counsel, said his team did not have the “option” to charge President Trump with a crime while indicating he does not plan to testify before Congress.

Mueller, speaking from the Justice Department Wednesday morning, announced the closing of his office and detailed the findings of the Russia investigation, underscoring that there “was not sufficient evidence to charge a conspiracy” with regard to whether members of the Trump campaign coordinated with the Russian government during the 2016 presidential election. But Mueller did not mince words on his inquiry into whether the president obstructed justice.

“If we had had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said that,” Mueller said. “We did not determine whether the president did commit a crime.”

Mueller explained longstanding Justice Department policy, which states that a sitting president cannot be charged with a crime.

“Charging the president with a crime was not an option we could consider,” Mueller explained, adding that “it would be unfair to accuse someone of a crime when there could be no court resolution of the charge.”

"The Constitution requires a process other than the criminal justice system to formally accuse the president of wrongdoing," Mueller said Wednesday, echoing his report which states that Congress "may apply obstruction laws to the President's corrupt exercise of the powers of office accords with our constitutional system of checks and balances and the principle that no person is above the law."

His comments set of a torrent of liberal drool:
After Special Counsel Robert Mueller delivered his first public comments since  concluding his Russia probe, CNN and MSNBC personalities took to social media to share their thoughts.

CNN’s Don Lemon shared a quote from Mueller’s statement and told his audience to “read that over and over” to draw a conclusion.

, ‘If we had confidence that the president did not commit a crime, we would have said so.’ Read that over and over and draw your own conclusion,” Lemon said in a tweet.

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough reacted on Twitter, where he shared two individual quotes from Mueller’s statement and included the well-known Latin term “Res ipsa loquitur,” which translates to “the thing speaks for itself.

Mueller even sucked in Bret Baier
Baier said, “This was not – as the president says time and time again – no collusion, no obstruction. It was much more nuanced than that. He said specifically they couldn’t find evidence to move forward with the crime of collusion for the investigation of the Trump campaign. He said specifically if they had found that the president did not commit a crime on obstruction, they would have said that, and then went into specific details about the DOJ policy and why they couldn’t move forward with anything else than their decision.”

He added, “It was not anywhere as clear-cut as Attorney General Bill Barr. In fact, it was almost exactly the opposite: not clear-cut.”

Judge Nap once again pounced all too quickly. He accused Barr of "whitewashing" Mueller's report:

He didn’t screw up anything. It was intentional to give Nadler and Democrats a bone that they wanted: make a political statement to make Trump look bad under the guise of a special counsel report without coming under direct cross-examination

When Mueller is indicted he should be required to go on a national Perp Walk tour.

Mulehead looked and sounded feeble in his address. He would make a complete fool of himself under questioning on Capitol Hill, and he knows it.

We need to force that cockroach out into the sunlight.

Mueller was Obama’s FBI director and up to his hips in the Uranium one scandal. Mudding the waters and colluding with RATs to change the outcome of the 2018 election was part of the coup plot all along.

Only the president has immunity, yet they could find no one else in President Trump’s inner circle of advisors who also obstructed justice? REALLY? No one who also spoke up with him to facilitate his egregious acts Mueller is making innuendo about that rise to the level of obstruction? No one else who spoke the same things, hinted at the same rewards or hinted at the same veiled threats, passed on the same advice to witnesses on what to say from the president? No a single indictment of a fellow traveler? Nope, not a single ancillary indictment or conspirator of these supposed felonies. Not one. That simply does not happen in a criminal investigation unless THERE IS NO PREDICATE CRIME THERE!

Or would Mueller implying that the only criminal in the White House is Donald Trump working by himself??

I think that we need to combine and/or abolish about 88 of the current 90 “law enforcement agencies” in the federal government, GET RID OF the sorry agents like COMEY, purge the 7th floor of the FBI & promote a GREAT field agent to the head of the agency.
We need over 90 agencies who have LEOs like we all need cancer. = MOST of those agencies have NO need for police.

As a retired LEO, I’ve worked cases with the FBI. The FBI has some GREAT agents but all too many crooks/creeps/politicians/drones.

How Mueller, Comey and Brennan rose so high in the ranks is beyond belief.

Mueller was Barry’s FBI guy when the illegal spying on Americans began. It appears Mueller has as much to bury as any other of Barry’s internal security ministers.

Mueller & his coven of witch-hunters were/ARE a WASTE of time/effort/taxpayer’s money.

Anybody with any commonsense KNEW within a month that there was little/nothing CRIMINAL to find & thus the “investigation” should have been SHUT-DOWN right then.

DJT was 100% correct that the whole thing was a WITCH HUNT & a “pack of lies”.

Mueller is just as stupid as Comey. Why would anybody expect him to not act that way.

Both of these men had been in government for many years. When it came done to handling a serious issue both men failed. How competent are the people who are running our government? Not very.

“We did not determine whether the president did commit a crime.”

Is plain English out of fashion?

It would have been far less inflammatory had he said, “We did not determine THAT the president committed a crime.”

[Baier] added, “It was not anywhere as clear-cut as Attorney General Bill Barr. In fact, it was almost exactly the opposite: not clear-cut.”

No, you stupid klutz, Bret! Mueller specifically told, in the hearing of several DOJ officials, that Mueller's decision not to indict PDJT had nothing to do with any limitation of DOJ policy (i.e., that no prosecutor would be allowed to indict a sitting president).

AG Barr then proceeded to repeat the essence of that part of the conversation in several of his media opportunities. Mueller, even on invitation to offer whether he had any difference with what Barr was repeating about the report was correct, said he had no problem with what the AG was saying publicly.

So now, in this last-day self-called news conference, Mueller intimates that it was the DOJ policy which kept him from indicting the president, sending the Democrats into a swoon, as there would be no DOJ restriction on Congress impeaching PDJT for a crime that kept a prosecutor from indicting a sitting president.

However, nothing at all was suggested to have changed in the report, which concluded no collusion, no obstruction, and no other crimes, and showed no evidence to contradict that.

Mueller "clear cut" lied either to the AG and a room full of DOJ officials, or he lied at his last press conference. There's no way around that, given the number of witnesses and Mueller's earlier repeated silence about any differences with the AG's public statements.

Mueller impeached himself. Dishonor necessarily drips from his lies. To so "clear cut" soil himself, I think someone must have coerced Mueller to make such a statement as he made, just to keep the impeachment meme alive with all the apparent support of Mueller's "integrity," such as it is or isn't.

Dershowitz called it Mueller putting his elbow on the Scales of Justice.

Mueller's shown himself repeatedly to be a dirty cop, happy to hire, work with, and defer to the most partisan evil, conniver the US legal system has ever seen, Andrew Weissmann.

You are right.
He can rest easy, wealthy, retired, happy or go on lucrative enjoyable book tours with people fawning over him like his pal Comey. And be the next Attorney General in 2 years——God forbid.

The Journey to My Greatness-—The Memoirs of America’s last Good Man by Robert Mueller.

He decide yes or no to Congressional questions. The answer is no.
