There was an old issue that had a record inside of it like a page.

When you played it had a song with burping called ‘It’s a Gas’.

My favorite was a parody of Columbo called “Codumbo”: https://www.reddit.com/r/Columbo/comments/a8iu14/clodumbo_mad_magazine_1973/

I was laughing so hard half way through Clodumbo I struggled to tell my wife what the dialog was about. - Tom

Read it in the ‘80s and consider it formative. Kind of sad to see it go.

LOL.......well you’re honest.......I still have a few stuck somewhere in this house. I’ll tell my kids I’ll come back and haunt them if they trash them after I’m gone. Loved that magazine.....never will there be another like it....;(

From around 1972... Sung to the tune of “As the Caissons Go Rolling Along”. I’ll remember it forever... Had a lot of fun with it in college ROTC...

At Fort Dix,
At Fort Knox,
We will hide our bushy locks.
Yes we draftees are keeping our hair...

With a new
Short hair wig,
They won’t throw is in the brig.
Yes we draftees are keeping our hair...

For it’s high, high hee,
In the field artillery.
Etc., Etc., Etc....

So long, old friend... RIP Mad Magazine.

Real, funny, laugh-out-loud humor is sparse these days.

Mad Magazine, Red Skelton, Carol Burnett’s crew, Benny Hill...
