Psych professors: feel free to borrow our clip of Jeffrey Toobin on CNN this morning. It's a perfect illustration of the Kübler-Ross model's first stage of grief: denial.
Toobin simply refused to believe the results of CNN's own poll showing a rather dramatic drop in Democrat support for impeachment: from 90% down to 77%. Note Alisyn Camerota trying to downplay the drop, claiming Democrat support for impeachment had merely softened "a little bit." Thirteen percent ain't little, Alisyn! If President Trump's numbers had declined by the same amount, you'd be clamoring about his "collapse!"
Here was poor Jeffrey, in the depths of denial:
"I dont believe that poll for one second, the 90 to 77%. I dont believe it. It makes no sense that that number would change like that . . . David, that poll is wrong. Just because I said so, okay?"

Toobin can’t handle the truth. Support for impeachment is dropping, even among Democrats.
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
Both CNN and MSNBC are having a major meltdown over the fact support for impeachment is going downhill fast.
I’m seeing this happen on the streets and am enjoying watching the traitors bellyache.
BBC is worried what will happen to the poor Dems that vote to impeach Trump ,LOL
I have a feeling Dems are still mostly in their usual lockstep, unthinking obedience mode .
Could they really take up a new hobby of rational thinking at this late date? Some independents (which means uninformed!) may be turning by a few slender percentage points.
For the people to accept bullying and injustice to President Trump is still unforgiveable.
“I dont believe that poll for one second, the 90 to 77%. I dont believe it. It makes no sense that that number would change like that . . . David, that poll is wrong. Just because I said so, okay?”
Toobin is smart enough to know that political polling is a real science and is always accurate within the margin of error. Toobin is a fool for not believing in the science of polling.
Toobin is a fool for not believing in the science of polling.
Oh, he believes in it, he just doesn’t want YOU to believe it.
I sometimes turn on CNN for entertainment, mostly to see what variety of “Orange Man Bad” is on the scroll at the bottom of their screen at any given time on any given day. I watched for a few minutes yesterday. (It is about all that I can take.) One of the talking heads (I forget which one) was being taken to task by Rick Santorum about the differences between this impeachment and the one during Clinton’s term. The talking head was trying to disagree with him, but Santorum was part of Congress at that time and had his ducks all in a row. “Denial” on the part of the CNN talking head was a good description for that one, too.
Think it is dropping now, wait until it starts in the Senate where things are more real. The democrats are going to take such a hit on this that they will be sorry they started it.
Did he stomp his little feet and hold his breath?
“Did he stomp his little feet and hold his breath?”
From the article: “Toobin stopped just short of stamping his feet, banging his fists, and knocking over his Lego tower.”
