Getting tired of all this WINNING yet? – No, the stock markets didn’t set new records on Thursday. But, hey, WINNING is never a straight-line progression, right? No, Thursday’s WINNING came in other areas.
Just hours after we wrote about her here at the Campaign Update, corrupt former U.S. Attorney Jessie Liu outright resigned from the Treasury Department, where she had been reassigned weeks ago in anticipation of her being confirmed by the Senate as Treasury’s undersecretary for terrorism and financial crimes. That opportunity went away after President Trump smartly pulled her nomination on Tuesday. Thus, one more deep state embed is now out of the federal bureaucracy.
Too bad, so sad.
No doubt we will see Ms. Liu pop up as a high-paid contributor at CNN or MSNBC in the coming weeks, because that’s what all these deep state skunks and snakes do.
In other news, President Trump and his Attorney General are now feuding. – Or are they? It’s hard to know, really.
William Barr gave what on the surface appeared to be a damage control interview to ABC News Thursday, during the course of which he complained about the President’s tweeting habits, saying at one point that “I cannot do my job here at the department with a constant background commentary that undercuts me.”
The Attorney General also stated that “I think it’s time to stop the tweeting about Department of Justice criminal cases,” referring apparently to the President’s Tuesday tweets about the DOJ’s conduct of the Roger Stone case, which by any rational measure has been outrageous and abusive.
Interestingly, in response to the Barr interview, White House Spokesman Stephanie Grisham said that President Trump has “full faith and confidence in Attorney General Barr to do his job and uphold the law” and he “wasn’t bothered by the comments at all and he has the right, just like any American citizen, to publicly offer his opinions.”
Translated into Trump Speak, that reads “Hey Bill, you have the right to speak your mind, and so do I. Deal with it. Just do your damn job.”
So, what we have here is, at least on the surface, a public spat between the President and his Attorney General. In light of the Democrat/media hoax swirling around the men over the Roger Stone case, however, which falsely alleges that the President abused his power by tweeting his outrage over the draconian sentence recommended by DOJ, it’s a mighty convenient spat indeed.
Think about it: What better time for an Attorney General to assert his independence from his boss than when he’s just been summoned to testify before a circus-clown-filled House Judiciary Committee in 6 weeks over allegations that he is not independent at all? What better time for Mr. Barr to do that when his lead investigator in the inquiry into the origins of the Obama-era spying on the Trump Campaign/Transition Team is preparing to start revealing his findings?
What better time for Mitch McConnell, John Thune and other prominent Republicans on Capitol Hill to come out and support Mr. Barr’s contention that he should be left alone to do his job, which they did on Thursday? This tactic – if it is one – won’t stop the Democrat efforts to smear Barr dead in its tracks, but it does under-cut their narrative, especially when Barr goes to one of the most biased and corrupt mainstream media outlets of all to use as his platform.
We all must remember that it’s the narrative that matters here. The narrative is all the left cares about – to them, truth has no real meaning anymore. The narrative dictates their daily conduct and indeed, for many of them, forms the very basis of their being. Whenever the narrative fails to have its desired impact, their effectiveness is diminished, and so is their power to influence the public.
So, maybe Barr’s interview and the President’s response were exactly what they appeared to be: A public spat over the President’s social media habits. Or maybe, as has so often been the case in the past, the President and his Administration were deploying a tactic designed to subtly promote their own preferred narrative about Mr. Barr’s independence in advance of Durham’s investigation finally starting to bear fruit.
It sure will be fun to find out.

If the AG seriously had concerns about Trump Tweets, it’s a discussion they would have had in private.
For all the fawning the dems did over Ali, they learned nothing about rope a dope.
I didn’t see it as a “spat” and obviously Trump didn’t either. Most people don’t seem to be aware of the harassment Barr is undergoing for doing his job - for example, that ridiculous House Judiciary Committee hearing next week, to be conducted by Nadler, of all people.
I think Trump was understandably angry and venting about the Stone case, and it served at least to call attention to it and to the players in it. But now he needs to step back and just support Barr quietly, and I think he will do that.
The Rats in the House have “friends” at DOJ. The entire point of “March 31” is to get Barr on TV before Durham does anything. To over ride the Durham news with news that they prefer.
When I heard what Barr said about Trump’s tweeting in that interview my jaw dropped. Why wouldn’t he say such a thing in personal and private?
But yeah, this was a made-for-public script to show Barr as an independent guy too upset about Trump’s tweets.
Heh.
You gotta play the game sneaky, like the Democrats do.
The author calls ABC one of the most biased and corrupt media outlets, but I get a sense that the Trump administration uses ABC as its preferred method of getting an orchestrated message to TV viewers.
Nominating Liu then denominating her is a neat slap in the face for the Democrats who thought they were pulling a fast one. I would not be surprised were it confirmed tha t it was made to be that way.

Because this isn’t about Barr/Trump. Barr made a clear warning to POTUS that if he continues to attack DOJ publicly that there will be more “Resistance” and resignations there.
YEP- I feel bad for BARR that he has to face Gonad and his posse. It didn’t have to happen. Barr could just say screw this and retire. Not too many people are so loyal that they will allow themselves to be smeared by news media and interrogated while serving the President.
One tweet has now led to weeks of Dems and news having the stage yet again- who knows a whistle blower might be found in attempt to take out BARR.
If the President had concerns why didn’t he say it to BARR in a personal and private manner. Of course with witnesses to back up what was discussed.
There is no “spat”. Trump’s tweets resulted in Barr having to deal with a bunch of ridiculous nonsense. They shouldn’t interfere with Barr doing his job, but they probably do. The “spat” exists only in the diseased minds of liberal journalists and other disgusting people.
Good lawyers always insist clients not talk about their case. Same here.
AG Barr is a serious, legal heavyweight. His client should heed the advice and not give ammo to the dishonest Rats.
Because hell is coming from AG Barr and Durham. You can feel it.

I don’t doubt it was planned. I don’t know which came first, the tweet or the plan, but it will help thingsa lot. The Dems will still act out but America is going to be comfortable with what is coming down the track.
The whole purpose of playing this out on national TV is so that Barr can testify truthfully (at any time) that he and President Trump never had any conversations about open DOJ cases.
I’d be willing to bet they agreed on how to do it before they did it. Almost certainly stagecraft.

The Prez is the grand master at staging and baiting the press. I think this is one of those times. IMO
It actually makes perfect sense... Barr pushes back on Trump publicly, the Dems view him as being more independent, Barr drops the hammer.
What are the left to say?
“Everyone Hates Trump tweeting” is fake news.
Should we just rely on the media to relay his message?
And Barr got to declare his independence and tell Trump to knock it off [which he isn't going to do if he sees a need to do it].
And the press made sure we all know about this little skit.

Gee, if they’d just damn do something then we wouldn’t have to speculate, now would we? I know justice can move very slowly, but it would seem that these guys want it to move slow on purpose for some reason.
Jeeze, how hard can it be to find evidence when it’s so blatantly flaunted? Do they think they have to know everything about every crime ever before they can move on anything? It’s ridiculous and it needs to be settled one way or the other. This Republic’s in danger.
