The Mischiefs of Corruption

“All tyrannies,” wrote Algernon Sidney, “had their beginnings from corruption.”

He drew most of his illustrations in Discourses Concerning Government from the Roman experience, which, in little over a hundred years, fell from the heights of ancient liberty and virtue into the basest tyranny. The reward for high public service in republican Rome were honors typically bestowed upon victorious generals by a grateful people.

Sidney related the Roman’s steadfast attention to the rule of law. Prior acts of selflessness for the public good did not cancel out subsequent crimes against the public good, “and none can be exempted from the penalties of them.” He who did not bend to the law “shakes off the equality of citizenship and usurps a power above the law.”

Like our Framers, Sidney didn’t believe imperfect men could design a perfect government. He wrote:

Our inquiry is not after that which is perfect, well-knowing that no such thing is found among men. But we seek that human Constitution which is attended with the least, or the most pardonable inconveniences. And if we find that in the space of three hundred years, while the Senate, People, and legally created Magistrates governed Rome, not one worthy man was put to death, not above five or six sentenced to fines, and those injuries were repaired by the most honorable satisfaction that could be given, so that virtue flourished. The best men that could be found were put into chief commands, and the city was filled with more excellent men than were ever known to be in another place.

But, men have an inclination to run into all manner of crimes when the means invite and there is no power to deter.

In political campaigns while the use of Social Electronic Formats are useful in presenting political positions. Relying solely on using those venues is a mistake because of their SEF content limitations and media bias .

Consideration of the use of reprinted material including handouts and flyers such as of articles in FR and the planning of area saturation distribution known as “blitzing” in the targeted area is essential of one wants to win.

Man Accused Of Raping 3-Year-Old At McDonalds Previously Arrested At Texas/Mexico Border ^ | February 28, 2020

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) says a man who prosecutors allege sexually assaulted a 3-year-old girl in the stall of a McDonald’s restroom located in Chicago’s North Riverside community 600 North Clark street should have been turned over to the agency last year.

Christopher Puente, 34, is charged with one count of predatory criminal sexual assault. Cook County prosecutors said he confessed to detectives that he’d placed the child on his lap while he was in a restroom stall, pulled off her pants, and covered her mouth when she started calling out “daddy daddy.”

The father had taken his two children to the restroom, taking his son into a stall while his daughter waited just outside in the restroom. According to prosecutors. Puente, who was in the next stall, lured the girl into his stall while her dad was preoccupied, pulled her into his lap, pulled down her pants and underwear, and sexually assaulted her.

In June 2019, ICE lodged an immigration detainer with the Chicago Police Department on Puente, who has several felony convictions and a prior removal, after he was arrested for theft.

“How many more victims must there be before lawmakers realize that sanctuary policies do not protect the innocent?” asked Robert Guadian, field office director of Chicago Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO). “Puente should have been in ICE custody last year and removed to his home country. Instead, irresponsible lawmaking allowed him to walk free and prey on our most vulnerable.”

The lie is the WEAPON used most often by the CRIMINAL. Every other transgression against the innocent victim follows that. (some criminals will skip the lie and go straight to the rape/murder)

Power is a commodity. The more of it you have the more of it you can sell. Limit power and you will limit corruption.
