Franklin Graham was talking about that about their field hospital set up in Central Park. Sick people were comforted both by the medical help and the prayers of the workers. Some people just stopped by for prayers.

I have NEVER, EVER, ever underestimated the power of prayer. Our good Lord DOES listen.

We can stamp and stew all we want but this life is a blink of an eye, time wise. We OUGHT to be concerned about ETERNITY.

Talking to our good Lord is NEVER, EVER, EVER a waste of time.

I pray every day and include in my prayer: FOR
1. God's praise, honor and glory;
2. Gratitude for all my blessings...and ONE of them is having the blessing to be born HERE in the USA;
3. Forgiveness, reparation and healing of my sins;
4. The grace to be a better daughter to our Lord and sister to the world.

Then, I'll add specific prayers for family, friends, dead and alive, for our leaders and clergy.

Have I missed anything?

You are delusional. We’ve had about 40m jobs lost in the last two months and another 10-20m have had pay or hours cut or both. And many more are at risk. The numbers, if anything, understate how bad it is due to the last two. The revenue declines are worse than the Great Depression drops for a huge number of industries - airlines, hotels, restaurants, casinos, colleges, small businesses, etc. The large cap stocks are holding in better for now but they will be the secondary effects and their time is coming. The risk of governments and pensions blowing here is real and if the UST market goes sidewise all bets are off. The US gov can’t afford 5% interest much less 15-20%. And just because you aren’t that stressed from this doesn’t mean millions are not. I already know two people in their thirties that committed suicide in the last two weeks that were pushed over the edge from this

And you are full of baloney.
But, I DO like baloney...to eat, not to read.

You could have fooled me. We’re acting so stupidly Idiocracy was a documentary.

Well, then, why don't you LEAVE this "idiocracy" and spew your poison somewhere else?

How about leaving for North Korea, ANYPLACE south of our border, ANYPLACE in Africa, Asia?
I will PAY for your ONE-WAY ticket, FIRST CLASS, to any of those third world sewers.
BON VOYAGE!!

.

.

But you have to PROMISE never to return to the "Idiocracy."
WHAT a deal!

Talk to people who are losing their homes, jobs and businesses. Talk to me when or if we re-open, and you see for yourself the inhumane cascade of millions of destroyed lives.

Wow, that's general and vague enough to include MOST of the planet.
GOOD for you. WHAT a debater!

NOT.

WHAT a drama queen/king you are.
Your histrionics rival any Shakespearean actor!
You really should try out for the stage or the daily soap operas. You're GOOD at it.

What is full of balogny? You don’t like what I said? Cause it is a fact. I am a senior exec in one of those industries and this is 4x worse than 2008-2009.

So says an idiot. That was a childish rant if there ever was one. See, kid, the point isn't for me to leave, it is for you to leave. We want stupid out of our country.

Lol. Great cartoon.

HOW FITTING that YOU have it.
To thine own self be true.
This phrase is one of the countless famous quotes coined by William Shakespeare, Act 1, Scene III of the famous play, Hamlet.

Lol! You can't be an "exec" since you can BARELY write. A second grader could do better.

"balogny"?? Geez. You can't even spell THAT word and it was in my post. Go back to night school and learn to spell.

Except that the unemployment figures come from the federal government based on actual human beings lining up and filing new unemployment claims.
The media have nothing to do with it.
Wanna try again?

Federal Government? So what Trump says? What the House Speaker says? What the state governors say? What Pelosi says? THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT....lol. You couldn t be more obscure.

The media reports on everything. THEY decide who says what, when, how much, how little, what's included, what's excluded, who "says" it...and so on. I guess you thought that the television comes through the air on angel wings...not through the MEDIA.

The numbers change every MINUTE of the day. NONE of them are consistent, reliable or necessarily FACT.
That doesn't even account for those who are cheating, who are illegals, who never did have a job, etc.
Besides, you only get OUT of unemployment what you put IN to unemployment.

You seemed to have SMOKED your brain, Joe. Maybe you need an inhaler. I'm done. PAX TIBI.

LOL Oh know! I missed one letter on something I haven’t eaten since I was a small kid means I can barely write LMAO (and I was taking a 2 sec break at work, geeze)? You didn’t address any of the actual content of my post, because you have no data to back up your opinion. You can put your head in the sand all you want, but the economic data is all available. I suggest reading more WSJ, Bloomberg, CNBC, Financial Times, etc and less whatever it is you are reading (if anything at all). Talk to a few business execs. It’s a bloodbath out there - whether you want to believe it or not isn’t my problem.

Just when everyone thinks you can't get more stupid, you reach even higher levels of stupidity.
Again, the new jobless claims figures are published by the U.S. Department of Labor.
It has absolutely nothing to do with the media apart the media like anybody else can go to the the U.S. Department of Labor web site and read the figures. Exactly like anybody else.
The media DON'T produce the figures. Get it, Dumbo?

And how many will be back at work in ANOTHER TWO MONTHS? It's ALREADY happening.

Of course, you are correct.

No use dealing with SmokeGetsInHisBrains. He seems to be just a stinkbomb...only thing left is the stench.

Hey Bud, 20M lose jobs in one month! The shutdown is pure folly. I don’t care if Trump is a good man, which he is. This is destroying America as we knew it. You are willfully blind.

[What I hate about articles like this is that nobody knows if the lockdowns save lives or not - but they might. I put the probability of catastrophic worsening after lockdowns end at 25% - 30%. By no means the most likely outcome - but decidedly non-zero.]

Any idea why Italy’s death numbers seem to be coming down, whereas US numbers seem to have settled on a high(ish) plateau?

1) They did lockdown much better than we did.
2) The more experience intensivists get with this very strange disease, the better they do.
