Some know exactly what they are doing. Their goal is destruction.

During the Great Depression, life expectancy increased. Some of it might have just been a previous trend that continued, but other factors such as less smoking, fewer rich diets and heart attacks, etc. are believed to be a factor.

The only cause of death that increased was suicides. Although Alcoholism also increased, and I suppose the resulting shortened lives weren’t counted until later.

Ok. You really believe that most of the 40M will have jobs to return to? I do not.

I don't even believe the numbers that are put up. News media LIE and LIE. The Democrats LIE and LIE and LIE. THEY are the ones who are predicting death and doom....and the ONLY way out of it is to vote them into office.

You have the confidence of a scared teenager. Don't you KNOW our economy? Don't you know ANYTHING about the engine of our economy? What...we go from riches to rags in six months? Seriously....

Generally the stock market consists of large companies that have been deemed essential. The small businesses are going to be wiped out by this lockdown. Big companies will fill in the gaps. That’s why my 401k and IRA Account’s are up 20% in the last 3 weeks. Most of my investments are Blue Chip companies that survived all the major downturns. They always come out stronger. The little guys get pushed to the gutter.

People ALWAYS took SOMETHING to "ease their pain"--alcohol, drugs, hallucinogenics, peyote, opium, whatever. All societies had/have their own "feel-good" stuff. They always will.

They COULD turn to our good Lord for solace...but that would be TOO much to ask of ... oh never mind. You get my drift.

Martha, a 75-year-old woman living in North Baltimore, Ohio has been saved because her husband’s knee replacement surgery has been postponed and she would have caught the virus from Pat at the local pharmacy where Martha was picking up her husband’s pain medication and Pat was getting Claritin-D for what she thinks are bad allergies but is really the virus. Pat has a bad few days until the Claritin kicks ins and then feels fine.

They both had to stand in line at the pharmacy a while because Tina, the pharm tech, is not there because she had to take a leave of absence since both her kids and her sister’s are not in school and someone has to watch them. Both their husbands and her sister fortunately still have jobs but they are of the kind that cannot be worked from home.

The pharmacist is working alone, but is having a hard time moving fast because she has a pin in her leg and a cast that should have been taken off two weeks ago, but she has to wait until non essential medical procedures are allowed.

Theresa, a 55-year-old in Edison, NJ, has had hard to manage Type 1 diabetes since childhood. She dies from her diabetes-related heart disease that was worsened from the stress of worrying about how her mother is doing in her nursing home in Queens and not being able to check in on her.

So yes, the lockdown has saved one life.

The little guys get pushed to the gutter.

The "little guys" in the USA have it a zillion times better than the middle class of the third world sewers. You just don't know how wealthy we are and how poor SO MANY other places are. Example: ANYWHERE south of our border, Africa and and most of Asia.

That leaves Australia, Europe, Canada, USA, Japan and Singapore (nation state), first world countries.

Oh, I forgot about the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Emirates...STINKING RICH!!!

Martha is not out of the woods. Eventually she will get exposed to the virus. Because of the lockdown her immune system will be compromised.

Just because she hasn’t died of the virus yet doesn’t mean she was saved from it. She may just die of it later.

The lockdown was to flatten the curve. Mission accomplished. It hasn’t saved a single life. It may have just prolonged a few.

Yes. I am not a fool. Who is looking to hire a fresh college graduate now? Anyone?
Trump’s “tough decisions” turned out to be a slow 3-step process. Destruction has been rapid. Growth is painstakingly slow.

The shutdown is wreaking more havoc than the dang virus has, at least around here. Drug & alcohol abuse has taken off, initiating a lot of domestic disturbances, typically with violence involved. Some of those same people get out driving around like maniacs, even showing up at stores or store parking lots all belligerent, picking fights with random people. Then there's all the suicide threats, some of which turn into attempts. Most recent example is a guy who drank 4 bottles of cough syrup last night. That didn't work so today he texted relatives he was out looking for a suitable bridge to jump off of. Cops caught up to him and they had a game of follow the leader for a while (no lights, sirens, just followed) until he returned home and they snagged him there. Roughly 30 minutes ago a girl swallowed a bunch of pills and she's off to the ER now. Then there's all the ambulance calls that are hauling off chronically or terminally ill people who have had their medical care disrupted due to all the shutdown drama - the butcher's bill is starting to come due on that.

I believe you.

Just curious. Do you work at an ER? Are you a police officer? Do you have a police scanner at home?

BTW, I am not scared, but furious. I have kids and grandkids. Millions of US lives destroyed, hundreds of millions around the world facing starvation. NOT a media lie!

He’s a psychiatrist. Our era’s version of the venerable Witch Doctor.

Actually he makes a heck of a lot more sense than Fauci and Birx.
As for witch doctors, I have met a few in my lifetime. They are no psychiatrists.

Huh?
Unemployment claims are re human beings claiming unemployment. Its up by 30 million since the lockdowns.
There is no “if” or “but” about it.
What drugs are you on?

“They COULD turn to our good Lord for solace...”

Franklin Graham was talking about that about their field hospital set up in Central Park. Sick people were comforted both by the medical help and the prayers of the workers. Some people just stopped by for prayers.

Radio comm traffic. If it's stirred up like that around here, I can only imagine how it is in other places. The media drumbeat of fear needs to stop - or be stopped - and the medical community has to get into gear and get out in front of the crisis of neglected patients. There's a "2nd wave" of illness alright, but it's not the coronavirus, but from the response to it.
