While all others in the right-wing media were spinning heroic tales about Trey Gowdy’s ‘tough DOJ prosecutor’ schtick during the Benghazi hearings and his supposed stance against FBI officials entangled in the Russia collusion and FISA-abuse cases, True Pundit was the lone voice in the political wilderness.

Gowdy in fact has worked AGAINST holding the State Dept., FBI and Justice Department accountable for shattering the U.S. Constitution and federal laws. And few in the media or government even blinked, except for Thomas Paine. Still, few others listened to or credited Paine. In fact, many Conservatives lashed out, defending Gowdy and slamming the pundit. Now, literally years later. Paine’s sentiments are going mainstream. We dust off Thomas Paine’s rarely-wrong crystal ball once again. See below.

One FReeper early on said Gowdy was great at long lists of hard hitting questions to people but then it always quietly fizzled out and they all got away with everything time after time.

Two thoughts:

There is no Dem counterpart to those two, or does anyone know of them to tell me?

Dems always stick together, vote together and have no Jeff Flake, Romney or S. Collins causing them trouble. For Dems it's always: "Somebody get Schumer (or Pelosi) to return my call, please. I need to know what I think, what to say to reporters and how I'll vote on the bill later today."

If a Dem with a brain ever gets elected they could think for themselves after evaluating facts. No worries. I read too much science fiction in the past so I make things up like that.

I gotta admit, I was a fanboi for a little while. I was taken in by all the noise.

But when he let the FISA thing slip away, it was clear, even to me, that he was not interested in holding anybody accountable, and was working to protect the deep state.

It was great entertainment to watch Howdy Gowdy questioning the many suspects that came before his committee. But that’s all it was.

Trey Gowdy appears purple-tied on Fox News with Maria Bartiromo to discuss the ongoing DOJ/FBI revelations from document releases related to the Michael Flynn prosecution.

After numerous appearances in 2018 and 2019 proclaiming the integrity of Robert Mueller, IG Horowitz and FBI leadership, Trey Gowdy now holds a divergent perspective. Perhaps because he is now a paid Fox contributor, Ms. Bartiromo never asks Gowdy to reconcile previous assertions against current information. 

Additionally, Gowdy says there’s no reason to take the investigation to former President Obama because the current spotlight reaches high enough.

Then nothing happened.

They all knew Hillary and Obama had shipped missiles to Al Qaeda in Syria.
Didn’t do squat about it.

Gowdy followed orders of Paul Ryan and handcuffed everyone in the Russia Collusion Hoax. They preferred to allow those Deep State actors get away with it and try to overthrow President Trump.

I blame Paul Ryan first and foremost.
