If You Are Under Age 29 You Are More Likely to Drown than Die from Coronavirus

The number of deaths from coronavirus in the US has been plummeting since mid April.

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) there were 78 coronavirus deaths in the United State in the 0 to 29-year-old age group this year.

The numbers were totaled from the week ending Feb. 1 2020 to May 9, 2020 during the current outbreak.

Those coronavirus victims under age 60 are also likely to have at least one comorbidity.

In the United States since 1999, an average of more than 815 children ages 14 and under have died as a result of unintentional drowning each year.

Using these numbers it is safe to say a child or young adult under 29 is eight times more likely to die from drowning than die from the coronavirus in America.

Luke Johnson, former chairman of Pizza Express and Channel 4, took it a step further this week arguing if you’re under 60 with no underlying health conditions you’re more likely to drown than die of COVID-19.

It is absolutely insane that Dr. Fauci and the CDC are pushing the notion that schools need to remain closed due to this virus.

Fauci’s coronavirus lockdown may go down as the most disastrous public health policy in US history.

Is this article something new that we did not already know?

Nothing new here almost sounds like symptom of the Trump Derangement Syndrome. Another fear article.

Who is Luke Johnson, former chairman of Pizza Express and Channel 4 never heard of him. What makes a formal chairman of Pizza Express an expert.

I would be interested how many people would know who Luke Johnson is without using google.

How many Channel 4s are their in the USA? I have a News 4 channel in my location with no Luke Johnson listed as chairman of Channel 4.

Great. Another reason for control freak mayors and governors to keep the beaches closed.

The article is a bit misleading because people who die from drowning typically don't fall in water, get pulled out, go to the hospital or stay at home and linger for a few days/weeks then pass away. Also, those people experiencing near-fatal drowning incidents usually don't come with a material attendant medical cost. Those 0-29 yr old coronavirus fatalities and cured cases come with costs such as parents taking time off from work for little kiddies. Finally, grandma and grandpa can't catch drowning from exposure to drowning survivors.

All that said, while I think many people tend to slobber all over the fantasy of Sweden's approach to this bug, the one thing SE got right was keeping schools for kids 16 and younger open. This group is the least likely to experience the sturm and drang of Coronavirus. Further, families can keep the elders away if it really worries them. Finally, parental units can continue working vs be thrust into forced homeschooling (though in the long run that experience many break the back off the NEA).

That is likely a smarter approach than destroying the service sector and stressing out 30MM unemployed people. It would be prudent and perfectly statistically supportable to reopen schools in the fall - good for the kids, and working parents, and the economy.

...But as Grampa Dave says, this isn't about your health.

I don’t care who he is or what is his pedigree as long as he is stating facts. Which he is.

Yep - need to ban 29 and under from swimming and boating. Also, due to risks involved, they will need to take showers instead of baths. Also, no buckets larger than 2 gallon size.

If it saves just one life...

I’m 57. I’m more likely to die from getting run over by crazy drivers in my neighborhood during my daily walks, than I am of the Communist Chinese Cooties.

Also mandatory life jackets and water wings. Surgeon General will post a youtube video about how to make your own with materials around the house.

they will need to take showers instead of baths.

Showers can be dangerous, too. Therefore, no showers or baths.

That’s only about 24 percent of the population.

Really, not sure how to respond to your post. You do not really believe everything you read on the web without doing a little research right. No offense but your post just came across that way to me.

My point: If the article uses credentials, uses credentials the target audience would recognize. Pizza Express and Channel 4 is very unknown to Americans. The author should have stated UK somewhere in the credential. The author of the blog post expected us an American Audience to know who Pizza Express and Channel 4. The article is a cut and paste article from UK web news, I see no original writing/reporting here.

I have to wonder if conservative news sites are in danger of doing the same thing as Main Stream Media is doing repeating same news over and over. Same thing as Boom Shell, Trump this across all USA news media. Not as bad but getting close to being Group Think

Crap! You are more likely to be hit by 12 consecutive bolts of lightening than you are to get the Coronovirus 19.

Not sure how to answer your post as well. Anyone can do research. Math is available to everyone, even those with sweaty palms.

"815 children ages 14 and under have died as a result of unintentional drowning each year."

All swimming is now banned.

The government will implement that ALL swimming pools be cemented over.

Wading pools are banned.

All beaches, lakes, and rivers, will be PERMANENTLY closed.

The government is going to appoint "Bathroom tracers".

They will come to your house to inspect your bathroom. If you have a bathtub you will be required to remove it.

The government is here to help (/s).

Counting raindrops.

The chances of anyone dying from this are less than 1% IF you are infected. So, the chances in the general population are a fraction of that less than 1%.

The deaths from Covid are used because everyone knows what a death is.

The numbers people should be concerned about are the post sickness impact on a larger number. But, that impact is not well known...nor easily explained.

But reading statistics from Pizza King....unless he is talking about pizzas I will defer to other sources.

Thanks for posting this and the ping.

Remember, this B$ has never been about improving our health nor our families’ health.

It is/has been about taking away our rights and controlling us, with us paying for this B$ with our tax dollars to control us.

Don’t tell this to any criminal, leftist democrat politician. If they knew, they would outlaw water.
