Im in the Northeast, too. No one was staying home around here.. Never seen so many people while out on my usual dog walks. I live a very uncomplicated and simple life.. handful of family and friends..would rather be alone, unless I am in the company of soft-spoken, funny intellectuals.. there are never enough hours in the day.. and when I see how some people were on the verge of emotional breakdowns because they couldn’t go shopping.. I Thank the good Lord for making me a loner introvert who Loves being home! Heh.

I made eight deployments on Navy ships, so I can live for six months at a time in a prison. Now, I don’t have to and I won’t.

In the fall we don’t see a single soul from after deer season until mid-May unless we leave our mountain.

Wow.. No people, deer and a mountain.. You have the life! My busy residential area, with a tiny section of woods, had a lot of deer the last couple of years.. Now they’re all gone. Probably for the best, though..
It was getting bizzare.. walking out my front door and having a stampede of frantic deer pass just a few yards from me and my highly prey-driven Border collie.
My brother was in the Navy mid-late 60’s.. on a tugboat. He passed away last year. His family is basically all I have left. He and I were much the same when it comes to politics and people. Unfortunately, his sons married Liberals.. so on family get-togethers, politics is only spoken in whispers, lol.
Life used to be so easy and the vast majority of people had common sense. I sure miss my childhood with my fun and loving extended Italian family.

I am truly blessed to live among neighbors who think as we do - they are closer than most of my family. We back each other up, help each other out and there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for any of them.
