This is their problem, not ours.
Pull our own manufacturing back to our own shores and to the shores of allies.
The EU does not use so much from China.
“Eric” has never been a top 10 name in Germany, so I call BS. Maybe “Claus”, “Stefan”, or “Christian”.

Germany was an enemy then and it’s an enemy now.
Hey, China! Good work! Give my regards to Herr Goebbels, or whatever he’s called in Mandarin.
Krauts are nothing more than a bunch of stupid idiots who will lose their country to the moslem hordes long before this century has ended.
Not surprising to me. I was in Germany, from 1980 to 1984. I thought a lot of young Germans were great fans of the Soviet Union too. Many seem to have some sort of love affair with communism.
Move all the bases out of Europe, leave a few in the UK and say enjoy the Chinese form of compliance.
Diese Meinung is beiderseitig.
And I say that as one who is of German ancestry and who lived in Germany twice. Bring the boys home. Let them pay for their own defense - or suffer the inevitable consequences for their failure to do so.
I would take their opinion seriously. Then I remember their opinion of Hitler. And..well..
That describes Yurps in general.
and by Yurps I of course mean a lot of the pro EU, Euro-chauvanist soft socialist/pacifist types who are just CONVINCED they know it all.....even when its obvious to anybody within 30 seconds of them opening their mouths that they don’t know a damned thing.
Screen them carefully. Some are definitely worth saving. OTOH, many will be a cancer to any country that takes them in.
Another Badge of Honor.
Germans sell $56 billion more to the USA than they buy each year, a bigger positive imbalance for Germany than any other country.
Germans buy $16 billion more from China than they sell, also the biggest negative imbalance. for Germans, of any country.
So Germans, being by nature logical & rational people, hate their best customers and love their worst abusers?
Go figure.
Its not logical & rational to equate business dealings with love and hate.
Germans have always favored some form of socialism.
In the 1920s, for example, the great contest there was between International Socialists, National Socialists and Democratic Socialists.
The socialists won, of course, and today the country is still largely socialist -- though likely not more so than our own Democrats would make of us.
And yet... and yet...
German trade imbalance with China is larger than with any other country -- Germans buy much more from than they sell to, China.
So maybe... just maybe... all those "easy" Chinese girls come at a higher price than at first seems?
So, you being a good German, think it's perfectly OK to hate your customers and love your abusers?
