THAT is the kind of “Masters” the Masters Tournament is about.
What next? Colleges will change the Masters Degree to something else??
There is mastery of a subject and master over someone. The two uses of the word “master” are not part of each other.
Why are we here? It began in academia with “trigger words”.
Only an uneducated and well-propagandized “black” would be personally “offended” by the title of the Masters Tournament.
This is becoming tiresome.

My first thought too.
No, people with normally-functioning brains would think it was a tournament for people who are really good at golf. Only those who have some kind of fetish about slavery would think it has anything to do with a slave master. I don't want to give screwballs any more ideas but, since the grounds were once a plantation with slaves, maybe a name change isn't enough. Burn it, plow it under, and salt the ground!
I have a friend who is a master electrician. Should he be forced to change his job title as well?
Personally, I never heard it called Massa’ of Arts.
Also, if I get back into full running form and start entering races again, I will be known as a Master Runner, because I’m 53, not 23. So will I have to reconsider how to define myself?

It is way past time to tell them to get lost.
This is absolutely ridiculous. The Masters refers to golfers who have mastered the sport to earn a slot playing in the tournament.
This is going to end in complete and total segregation because Whites won’t be able to say or do anything without some Blacks interpreting it as dog whistling or racist.
Oddly enough the author of the piece has a *gasp* master’s degree.

There was an article reported earlier today on FreeRepublic about people concerned that chess was racist. I dismissed it as nonsense based on the complaint that white always gets to move first.
However, now seeing the problem with the designation “Masters”, I realize that chess has a designation of “Grand Master”! It’s almost like a KKK Grand Pooba! I now see what they mean! /s
I was thinking more along the lines of "get bent". Or, "get stuffed".

That is what I always thought it was. These are "Master" golf pros, they have mastered their trade.
